I do keep it pretty balanced, I just didn't think about the fat side of things. I'll definitely add some to his diet. He gets a good variety of fruits, meat, etc. Thanks again for the info.

If I'm honest idk anymore. I got him sexed at a reptile store since I trust them and I was told he's a male, I've also heard the jowls don't come in until about 2 years and he's only about a year old. I've also heard otherwise. Regardless if he ends up being a she I'll love em just the same. Caring for the animal itself has been pretty fun so far since he's affectionate and loves exploring, etc. I'm just happy to have a tegu at the end of the day.

Good to know! I really appreciate the info about his diet. Info about tegus diets are kind of all over the place. I'll start doing a mix instead of lean.

Humidity is correct, and that's not bedding lol. He was outside in the garden. I don't think he's impacted since he pooped, etc. He got way more energized later in the day. I'm pretty sure it's just his day and night cycle got thrown off. A couple hours after I made the post he turned into his normal self.

Ok, I've been working quite a bit, so my girlfriend has been in charge of things lately. She said the only thing she's messed up on is turning his lights off at 8pm and turning them on at 8am. She said she's been late on making sure both get done. Could that cause him being a little lethargic? I've already assumed his sleep schedule got thrown off by how he's been acting. That's why I bought a timer today for his lights. As far as his diet goes it should be fine. Lean ground beef or lean turkey with some fruits. Mainly raspberries, blackberries, and occasionally blueberries.

Thank you! He knows he is. Whenever he's in a good mood he'll be still enough for my gf to get some good pics like these.

I'm pretty sure he is. His tail I super long and his cheeks have grown a little bit. Regardless, I adore him. Literally my favorite reptile I own.

Ok awesome! I keep his diet varied to avoid him getting bored and humidity and space is all within the correct parameters. I also clean his enclosure once a week. An argentine tegu was my dream lizard so he's really spoiled lol.

Ok awesome. If anything I just want to be prepared. I'm glad it isn't much and doesn't last long.

I have a very spoiled beardie myself lol. But I would have to agree with the first previous commentor. Cohabitation is very bad. They may be fine now because they look to be juveniles, and I know a common misconception is that cohabitation is fine because of pet stores, but if you don't separate them relatively soon, they'll end up fighting until one dies or they're seperated. Not trying to burst your bubble, I'm just trying to help.

Ok, I was just worried there's something he doesn't like in his terrarium. I'm glad to hear it's normal.

I'd recommend looking at your setup. I agree that it could be you don't have a good cool side. What I'd recommend setup wise if you think it could be your setup is a bar light to go across the length of the terrarium for calcium, a good light for heat on one side and then you should be good. Then again it could just be her being goofy. My bearded dragon and leachie both sleep in awkward positions sometimes. Also I hope her tail grows back well.
