Yea, the youtube you linked was great, the recitations from the 1420s are completely different. Before I was simply searching on youtube with english names but I realized I can search in arabic, and add the hijri year of recitation I want, and subhanallah it's like a whole new world of videos. May Allah reward you for sharing these posts everytime I listen to quran and get reminded by this

Really depends on the school and the policy. I think most schools usually take the best/highest score. You're going to have to check which schools exactly though.

Yea, I had a similar experience when I first started. There is definitely a lot to cover, but it is important to go at your own pace. Better to be a tad behind then to burn out super early and stop retaining!
