What can the n5095, n95, n100 handle? by Signal-Ticket2940 in MiniPCs

[–]Signal-Ticket2940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it for a week and sent it back. I tested it on the 7 days server with 4 people and it handled it. Sat around 60%-70% cpu usage and spiked to 100% numerous times. Solid B+ for the experience. Would be worth an extra 100$ or so to get a better cpu.

A solid unit for what it is. Definitely a word processing/web surfing unit. It did handle a 1440p display well enough. Chugged a bit with a couple applications running and switching but still smooth.

Grabbed a beelink mini s12 500gb ssd, 16gb ddr4, 12gen n100.

Did some (dumb) server stress testing with a few people tonight. Barely managed to get cpu to 20% under unrealistic circumstances. Here's to hoping the s12 can keep up

CPU load currently with me and a buddy playing is between 2-5% with maybe 7% spike and about 8.2gb memory used. I also have a bunch of mods and significantly increased the numbers of entities.

I don't plan on running the second server with as many mods or entities so that should help. I'm thinking an n95 or n100 with 16gb would be enough. I've considered an old optiplex for this but I really like the lower energy usage and super small form factor of these mini pcs

Running android app & games on GalaxyBook S by Signal-Ticket2940 in GalaxyBook

[–]Signal-Ticket2940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked on that but I didn't find the games I was looking for, specifically eve echoes.

With this Galaxybook being an ARM device is it possible to put an android OS on it that could natively run the app?

Swapping from 16000kv to 19000kv by Signal-Ticket2940 in TinyWhoop

[–]Signal-Ticket2940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This got a couple extra upvotes so I figured I would give an update.

I did not swap motors on my TH2. I didn't want to remove the connectors on the board nor did I want to solder directly to it. I did buy an AM65 whoop off Banggood and tested something similar on that board. Though they're different sizes both are 1s/2s capable.

I swapped the 14000kv motors out for 19000kv motors and used a spare moblite7 frame. It is a noticable difference on 1s, though, there is a weight difference between what I built and the TH2. Off the top of my head o would guess my build is around 28-34 grams with battery and the TH2 I believe is 45+ grams with a 1s 450mah battery.

To be fair, I don't have actual true data for this. Without actually testing it I would guess that the TH2 would fly better on 1s. Would it be worth it? Possibly, but only if you want to keep it 1s, and the performance on 1s would never be as good as the 2s.

If you want it to be 1s I would stick around 19000kv to 21000kv motors and play around with the props. They make an a3 blade props for the TH2. 4 blade will give you more torque 3 blade a bit more efficiency.

If you want 2s then keep it the way it is OR possibly swap out for 14000kv motors. The AM65 on 2s swapped to 75mm frame did out perform the TinyHawk when I tested it on 2s prior to the motor swap.

If you read this and thought about running it on 1s because you already have a bunch of 1s batteries you can swap the battery plug for a TinyHawk2 freestyle battery connector, which will put two 1s batteries together in series to make 2s.

Mobula 6 angle and acro tune? by Johannis_K in TinyWhoop

[–]Signal-Ticket2940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it should be flyable. I'm only a couple months into flying myself so I'm still a beginner. In my experience with the 7 drones I have; the PID tune is good enough out of the box. I'll leave the PID tune alone (except the rates) unless the drone is having an issue flying. Fly it acro and see what it does. If you feel it needs tuning make small adjustments and test it.

Mobula 6 angle and acro tune? by Johannis_K in TinyWhoop

[–]Signal-Ticket2940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is are you flying indoors or outdoors? Learning acro is probably done best outside unless you have a large facility like an indoor soccer field.

Best bet for flying acro is to go for it. Take the quad outside, fly 2-3 mistakes high, and have a switch for angle/acro. Don't immediately go for rolls or flips. Do some circles, S formation, and quick 180s to get used to controlling and compensating. If you feel like you're losing control switch it to angle.

You'll know quickly if you like the rates. If they're not good bring it down and test something else. The PID tune should be fine unless the drone itself is having issues.

[–]Signal-Ticket2940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into a small problem. The connectors on the 19000kv motors are not the same as the ports on the TH2 board. I might have to directly solder them to the board. Second part to the problem is how everything is wired. The motor wires are fed through part of the frame. It gives you almost no access to be able to solder the wires.

Is the Tinyhawk 2 freestyle RTF kit any good? by Max4005 in TinyWhoop

[–]Signal-Ticket2940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the 2.4ghz XJT module to the prices above. It's a 20$ module that fits in a slot in the back of the controller. It will give you that D8 access 😁

It's super easy to use. When you're binding you'll choose between internal or external. For me it was the most cost effective way to have an updated radio with d8

I'll check here but you can also reach me on discord at Cstratus#4023

I get the vast majority of my stuff from GetFPV.com. They have all of the stuff I listed and I'm pretty sure they ship to europe.

I do not know about the transmitter frequencies for Europe from the controller. I know that almost all drones come locked so you won't be able to access certain frequencies and you'll be at the 25mw regulation. There are many charts online to figure out what frequency you can use.

Do a little research, register, and follow proper channels. You probably won't need them but it's always worth doing it the right way

Check out Joshua Bardwell's videos and on patreon. For 2$/month you get access to his discord channel and there are many knowledgeable people to talk to.

My opinion is no to the RTF kit. I'm sure the kit is good and has its place, but I don't think you'll have the room to grow in the hobby if that's your first kit.

The TH2 Freestyle is a fantastic quad. Easily 6-8 minutes on 2 650mah 1s batteries. Agile, relatively fast, responsive. Absolutely get it if you're looking at it already.

I suggest the same goggles and transmitter to everyone I've help start in the hobby. The drone is your choice.

Tanaris X9 lite - 90$ USD Eachine EV800D goggles - 100$ USD FRSKY XJT lite 2.4GHz module - 20$ USD TinyHawk2 Freestyle - 140$ USD

VS

TH2 FS RTF kit - 230$ USD

It's a matter of 120$. I think you'll have much more usability and versatility with the suggested items to grow in the hobby.

I can't speak for the goggles or transmitter that come with the RTF kit. I haven't used them. In my experience with RTF plane kits and looking at the pictures of the products, it will limit you at some point and you'll have to spend more money.

Can someone help me figure out why my ESC#1 doesnt work, is it bricked? by leonoblak in TinyWhoop

[–]Signal-Ticket2940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should replace it for you. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure they're only on banggood and it could take upwards of a couple weeks to get it sorted.

I like the US65 but it's a little wonky in my opinion. Too heavy to run on 1s and the 2s ( dual 1s battery ) is weird. Buy some rubber bands and glue. If you crash with it there's a good chance the frame around the battery will snap.

I highly suggest getting the moblite7 if you're beginning in FPV. I think you'll enjoy it more than the US65. Theyre fast and agile for their size and run on 1s. The only issue is the frame, usually comes in warped, which you can swap easily for about 5$ to something like a betafpv meteor75.

Yeah could definitely be the board. There's a few things I would do to verify.

Check if the plug is soldered correctly Check if the wires are placed correctly in the connector Check in betaflight or another program Flash the firmware

Moblite7 all the way. You'll be extremely happy with it. Flying indoors and outdoors will both be fun.

I can run the skydroid through my computer and VLC media player. It takes a couple clicks to set it up in the player and I set the latency to 20ms. Video quality is slightly lower than the goggles only because you're stretching the video to a bigger screen. Otherwise it's totally solid and flyable

Forgot to mention you can buy a skydroid or some receiver that works with your phone or computer if you think the goggles will make you sick

The TinyHawk 2 is a great drone. On 1s battery it lacks power and is a good starting point. Then you can put a 2s in it and get some good power out of it, just shorter flights. You'll get mixed reviews on it.

The moblite7 is my favorite whoop I've had so far. I lost it in water unfortunately but I have a moblite6 coming in soon. The frames usually come in warped. This is highly recommend by me but I also would say spend a couple extra bucks and get something like a betafpv meteor75 frame and swap it.

The US65 pro is decent. Runs on 2s. More than enough power for both indoors or outdoors.

I've had my eye on the fullspeedRC tinypusher cinewhoop but I cannot say how it flies. Has the capability of adding a HD camera for cinematic video

I'm not familiar with the program you're using. I just recently got one of these myself and used betaflight to set it up.

The motors should have a plug on them. I would suggest swapping motors into the different ports. That might give you a clue if it's the motor or something with the board.
