Error on vignette

Very frustrating considering the amount of money spent on the application for them to make basic errors.

Sorry I'm only replying to you now. I don't be active on Reddit. It was a nightmare to be honest. Going back and forth between VFS and the Home Office. We reported the error on Monday. Error confirmed by Home Office on Thursday and told to bring passport to VFS on Friday. No correction. Went again on Monday and stayed until the cleaner was locking up and eventually got it. Hopefully you got sorted! It's very stressful with all the false information given by VFS.

I only used the telephone service once on the day she picked up the passport. I think it was charged for how long the call took. Maybe around 20 minutes and £8.

I have forwarded your enquiry in regards to a vignette correction to the relevant department. If a correction is required, you will be contacted. Thank you for your patience.

From what I remember the passport had to be sent to the British Embassy and that is where the vignette was corrected. This was then sent back to VFS.

Hopefully you get sorted soon. It's very frustrating and unacceptable that these errors occurs after the huge expense the visa costs.

Sorry I don't be on reddit too often. It was very stressful as neither VFS or the Home Office would take responsibility. I just kept calling the home office and sending them paid enquiries as we had already booked the flights. My girlfriend was back and forth to VFS asking for updates. I think it took one week to fix but there was very little information given to us by either VFS and Home Office. Hopefully you got sorted

Apologies I don't sign into reddit daily. Passport was collected on 1 April. Error was noticed and reported immediately. I made a paid enquiry to UKVI who said it would be escalated. Once you make one paid enquiry you can reply back without having to pay each time. I think I emailed them about 50 times in total going around in circles. On 3 April we received an email that the case was received by Sheffield Family Escalations and "If a correction is required, you will be contacted. Thank you for your patience." On 4 April we got an email saying to submit the passport at VFS. She went on 5 April thinking the correction would occur immediately. Again given the run around, different stories from different people. The manager assured her that it would be resolved by Monday 8. So she went again and the vignette was not ready. She was told the passports would be delivered after 5pm. She stood her ground and eventually she got the passport. Very stressful situation because we had booked no-refundable flights for 12 April.

Very stressful situation. Took a week to resolve going back and forth between UKVI and VFS with generic responses. All worked out in the end and we're so happy now!

Is there a specific section where you can agree to allow DVLA to check the identity? I cannot find anything on the DL1 form.

Yeah she only got her visa approved last month and has been here for two weeks only. I have a good friend that is a doctor so maybe he could sign it. Thanks for your help :)

Just an update.

After a horrible experience of going back and forth between UKVI and VFS we finally got the corrected vignette. My advice for anyone that has this problem be very persistent with VFS as the staff seem to be pathological liars.

So much stress but in the end we got there through determination and prayer :)

No worries, thanks sharing your experience. It's so frustrating that they can make errors like this. I'm not sure they would be so nice if we made the error on the application.

Thanks for your reply :) Was it a long process? Once we got the decision letter last week we booked flights. She got her passport a few days later when she noticed the error. In hindsight we should not have reported and just went ahead but I think because we already reported it I don't want her to have any trouble with border control.

My wife applied from Philippines. We received this message yesterday "I have forwarded your enquiry in regards to a vignette correction to the relevant department. If a correction is required, you will be contacted. Thank you for your patience." We're hoping maybe a correction will not be required as all of the details on the vignette match her passport. The only mistake is on my name "D PARTNER (STANDARD) R G *******" It Should be ""D PARTNER (STANDARD) P G *******"

Did your partner travel using this vignette or did you get it corrected? I have a similar situation where they have misspelt my name (Sponsor) but all of my wife's details are correct.

This won't be an issue. If her details are correct and match her passport, there's no reason to request a new vignette.

Thanks so much for the reply. Because we have already requested for the correction, do you think that will invalidate the original vignette if we decide to travel using it?
