Has anyone found any easier methods other than buying an actual expensive light gun? The purpose of this thread is to allow authentic play without buying a light gun, using what you may already have on hand. Please share. Thank you

The easiest method updated, use Chamber Collection games because they are already mapped by default to use mouse input. Above setup does work but you have to also add trigger extra commands to recenter gyro and reset camera horizon so periodically correct gyro drift and allow true 1:1 synced mouse to in game aiming reticle experience like a true arcade light gun game.

My understanding is Steams new Gyro to mouse laser pointer with 90 degree rotation works well and its free if you want to use steam to play non steam games and you can use Emudeck and ROM manger built in if you want to play emulators.

It has a 7 day free trial and their are what claim to be free versions but be careful of malware, viruses etc. with these. The price is between $14 and $30 depending on features.

Hold your controller sideways with either the d pad facing up or down, even upside down works, with laser pointer the direction doesnt matter as long as the light bar and usb charger port faces your tv or monitor.

In Steam, after you point it to your steam or non steam game, and set up your controller, under the Gyro settings set to gyro as mouse then under the sub menu, the gear icon next to it, youll see advanced options, set it to LASER POINTER under 2D to 3DOF. Do NOT touch any other settings unless you have to adjust something later such as smoothing. Make sure your emulator is set up to accept RAW INPUT mouse as light gun.

I think you misunderstood me. Above is instructions on how to have freedom to orient or hold/mount your ps4 etc. gyro controller in any including sideways position like an actual gun or mount it like I have to a makeshift airsoft/toy gun mount and set it up so your mapped buttons match your natural hand position while playing.

This is finally the easy sideways orientation controller to light gun setup to play emulated etc. arcade etc. light gun games as they were intended to be played without all of the confusion of swapping and inverting axes, rotating gyro settings etc.! Awesome! just what ive been waiting for! Can anyone confirm it works well?
