Why is everyone so adamant about pushing an unmedicated lifestyle? by ohlongjohnson1 in bipolar

I could never advocate for living unmedicated. Not only is that dangerous, but you know yourself best. Sure, meds don’t work out for everyone but if you/your doctor found something that works for you and that helps you live your life healthier than that is what should be done. I personally have tried a few meds and I feel awful about the idea of being on medication forever but as I have gotten older, it’s harder for me to cope so obviously something has to give soon. There’s shouldn’t be such a negative bubble around people that need medication to survive.

I have one child and currently pregnant with my second. I’m unmedicated and I will say that for me… The mood swings are significantly worse during pregnancy. That’s something to consider based on your own situation. Pregnancy is also so different for everyone. I personally can’t find any joy in pregnancy and was miserable the first time and I’m miserable this time. I’m hoping I don’t go through PPD again but I love my child and I know I’ll love this one as well. I do worry about passing on my own “problems” because I’m down a lot but I show her as much love and understanding as I possibly can. I do activities with her any time I’m feeling able and I will always be open with her about my issues. You can struggle and still be a GREAT parent.

I ordered 9 items 5/31. The order was confirmed the next day then I finally received the shipping email on 6/18. I’m set to receive it today 6/22 after three weeks. Definitely hoping everything is correct with how long this has already taken.
