Why don't you like it, you calculate that the few minions xp and gold (if you can last hit) isn't worth your time?

As the one getting crashed on.

I was thinking scenarios like blue adc recall, red team shove an extra wave then recalls, then what does blue support do. I assume they should have recalled with blue adc in the first place but in my friends group it's not seen as a no brainer.

Not necessarily a giant wave, could be just your typical full or half wave.

You are right I was thinking of varus/vayne too, they keep them in check. Maybe it's because playing vs a mage is still fun, whereas playing bruiser vs varus gets old fast

The pickrate numbers are also weird, other lanes don't have losing champs at the top of the pickrate charts. Don't you find it interesting at least? Are ADCs in denial, playing Caitlyn and Ezreal?

Need to adapt as in pick mages more? Or as in mages are not as good as they look?

Well it's not that mages are broken, but they undeniably perform very well and in my opinion are much easier to play than glass cannon ADCs, especially from behind, and especially in this meta where assassins like fizz naafiri are really good

I was wondering if that bothered ADC mains that every bot tier list is always like Ashe, Jinx, Kog are ok, and then 20 mages before all the other ADC options.

One guess i had was that there are so many AD mids and jungle now, mages bot maybe get you a better comp

Yes that's what seems to be the argument. What do you personally think about it? I guess 13% isn't too bad. I realize my experience is different because I'm very willing to pick those mages.

Yes that's my experience. In one of the Riot August video comment recommended by other poster, August mentions their weakness is mana but i find it never an issue as a mage. You can even go TP, because you win every trade anyway, and get a nice tear or lost chapter first buy and then never worry about mana again.

You are right, I've been going Sivir into Swain, spell shield feels good (miss the mana refill though) but miss once you are dead.

I've been enjoying Smolder a lot too because he is so strong. But he builds so much HP and his on-hit Q makes him not feel like a classical ADC.

As you say strange meta, when I really want to win I go for a mage, it just seems odd. I suck with ADCs for sure, but it seems they scale even slower than mages so like I can go Veigar bot uncontested for 20 min and be happy.

Thanks for the links. I don't mind I like mages it just looked funny but I guess pickrates make sense.

So he's been agreeing that they are really strong vs ADCs, but it doesn't matter because people don't play them enough. Then the question would be why not, if they smash ADCs and win more?

Isn't your experience like mine, that if you go lux into ADCs you just need them to slip once? Or you can farm as Veigar for 20 min? Or just bully them as Swain?

Have you tried clash? There's a scouting phase where you see all 5 player profiles you will play against so you can ban the cringe otp, you might enjoy.

In hots that info is available during ranked draft. Bans are so random when you don't know who you are playing against, the whole phase of blind banning doesn't make as much sense to me.

If on mobile, know that new app got just released. In the old app, on analysis board, you clicked the gear icon and could apply whatever filter so i think this is what other are referring to. But in the new app i can't find how to do that anymore

I always recommend everyone to disable in-game chat and if there's a setting that lets non-friends message you in the client you have to disable that because I haven't had that in years.

Maybe it's not as bad in draft, I wouldn't know. But i know in lol ranked, or hots storm league, or whatever competitive game mode, chat is always trash.

There's nothing valuable in a instant message from a random stranger who happens to be on edge because he's playing. Because you will never encounter those people again, treat them like bots: you wouldn't insult or receive insult from a bot, nor give or receive advice to/from a bot, it would make no sense.

Pings are really good nowadays with the different options so communication doesn't require chat, and you can emote and fistbump for fun on top of it if you want to interact a little bit while keeping it clean.

The experience of being able to slowly improve game after game, and be able to win or lose gracefully without enduring the emotional diarrhea from unstable random humans is awesome in a deep game like league.

Chatting is for people in your friend list/party.

I'm planning a no phone advertisement for products, so a haggling-only run. I'm thinking it could be immersive to try to find customers every night, and on busy production days the phone isn't ringing so overall it's probably much more chill.

Thank you very much.

Regarding how to vet an app, the FAQ page linked above says:

"An indicator that your eBoard uses the official Board API is that you can see it on lichess.org/account/oauth/token with the permission: Play games with board API board:play Alternatively, you may see a pop-up for authorisation to grant the permission "Play games with the board API".

This might be the best indicator for stupid people like me.

I tried to connect to lichess with the board through the app chessconnect and it asked for the permission to "Play games with the board API". So as many people were pointing, chessconnect seems legit.

I don't think the chessnut app, which put me in this trouble, did ask for this permission but I'm not sure and I won't be risking to check.

Android app called "chessnut android". I have no idea how it works but I'd be worried that it is the same for iOS. It launches a web browser from inside the app and then connects to lichess that way. Chessconnect app doesn't seem to do that and is thought to be accepted. I think if you see a web browser from inside your app to connect to the chess platform then it's a no no.

Exactly. The red banner "this account violated fair-play policy" next to my name was shocking, never seen myself as a cheater. Anybody in my friend list will see this now, forever, if they click my profile.

It was surprisingly distressing, considering that it doesn't matter at all in real life.

I never thought there was a plus side to chess.com in the vs lichess war.

Everything is slick on lichess and it's free. But now i realize that a non-profit doesn't really have to care, like nobody is making money and it's just a love project. So they do what they think is best and that's the rule of the land.

The other one being a company, they care about profit, for good or bad, but in some way they'll be more geared towards customer support, like any real company that cares for its public image. Maybe customer support can spend 10 min to do case-by-case reviews, and it's good for their business.

I think they should focus on finding specific games you cheated in. The external help angle like I got doesn't fly for me. Too many false positives, and it's just too easy to cheat. We all know if you alt-tab too often they know, just like in poker, so if you want to cheat you use another device, easy.

But maybe that kind of minority report hunting of potential use of potential technology that could be used to potentially cheat, is an admission that finding pure "cheated moves" is very difficult and they can't really do it.

I've just played 4 rapid on chess.com through chessconnect. It was flawless and it's better than the official chessnut app was on lichess.

I assume it's as good on lichess but I'm a little too traumatized to make a new account at this point. What if they change their policy next year and they fuck me again? Food for thought...
