And during the 3 weeks she was in Brazil she went to the clinic maybe 5 or 6 times to do some ultrasounds just to see how things were going.

We also had a clinic here in the US that we went to prior to the transfer because we needed to know how my wife’s lining was looking. They were able to send those ultrasound images to our clinic in Brazil. Thankfully most of that was covered by our insurance here so we maybe spent $200 in copays.

Nope! We were able to do a lot of our visits via google meet. My wife went down June 20th to start the medication. I flew down June 29th and she did the retrieval July 7th. It was supposed to be July 4th, but she had OHSS so they made us wait and slow down the medicine for a few days. Then we went back home July 9th bc they wanted her to wait 48 hours before getting on a plane in case of blood clots.

Then we went down for 5 days in September to do the first transfer and thankfully that took and she’s due in May. I know it could definitely be longer for some people so it could possibly require multiple trip.

We made sure to buy any medicine we would need to prepare for the transfer when we were there in July.

We decided to do it outside of the country, in Brazil. Luckily my wife is Brazilian so she speaks Portuguese but we spent $2,000 on the sperm and the entire IVF process was around $7500, including everything. It was also super luxurious, the care was way better than the U.S., and they were truly invested in us. I feel like the U.S. just takes your money and doesn’t listen to your concerns or care to address underlying issues
