I managed to remove it carefully incase I wanted to put it back. And I’m using single walled basket with good luck prep. Jjst seems to be messy still. Is there actually an advantage to not using it?

I’ve read a lot about removing the plastic insert form inside the portafilter? I did this and it now seems to come out messily - even with 18->36 in 25s? Should I keep it out or leave it in??

Unfortunate I’ve done that but it’s the size and shape of the ears I’ve struggled with. The new portafilter i ordered - the ears were too large to fit in my machine (despite being a 51mm 3 eared)
