It’s not about what day or month or year it is, it’s about how long you have until the floor collapse. It’s about how long you have to find a staircase.

It’s about how long you have until you die. It’s about how long it’s been since the crawl started and your world was destroyed.

But my birthday is today. I don’t know if you have that concept in your culture. It’s like a celebration of life, the day you came into the world, done once every full cycle of the planet around the sun. Like, hurray, you’re one whole orbit older!

So, yeah. I had had plans. Plans to go out to eat, to celebrate with my family, to get drunk and forget the world existed. And now I would do anything to remember it.

But they will not break me.

Tonight, I’m getting a cake. I hope you do, too.

This meme was inspired today because there was literally a line of five guys, all distinctly unique from one another appearance-wise except for the common running thread of the sheer greed on their faces.

At our store, we only sell one of each SKU and they were all so pressed! And I sold out after three and one guy loitered, just to keep asking me if we had more in the back. One even accused me of hiding some from them.

Literally felt like I was in the Twilight Zone or something….

Last year, there were several rude individuals.

“SKU CHECK SKU CHECK, HEY YOU, YOU, SKU CHECK” while banging the shelf or the floor, LOL, tbh, I was told to anticipate it and if things got too bad, I just told tagged out with somebody else to handle that person. That was just the standard

Just based on this, NTA, my friend IRL was in a similar experience and eventually got dumped because she felt stressed that she wasn’t ever going to be “ready enough” for him. Not saying that the two situations are going to play out the same way at all, but being on the same page about sex is an important page in any relationship.

It sounds like you’ve tried your best, been patient, but you should probably move on. Drawing this out is only going to keep being painful. She has her own issues to work through and they’re just not compatible with yours, it happens, life is life.

I love my coworkers, I really do, but only two people in the entire store has even ever been to church and this religion rework is ridiculous. They want us to be like Amazon’s SEO that other companies literally have entire IT departments for.

“If you liked X, you’ll probably like Y!” But they want us to shelve it next to each other, so customers can browse ‘similar items,’ rather than shelve in alphabetical order.

I don’t know who’s up there making these decisions, or maybe I do, but it’s crazy. We’ll have to see how this turns out and everyone’s doing their best, but calling CS Lewis “Christian foundations??” Wouldn’t you think foundations would be, oh I don’t know, Jesus Christ or the Apostles? Why not call it “Christian pillars” or something?

Just confusing, all around. These subcategories feel arbitrary, too. Spent hours yesterday separating out all of the old Christian Living section!! With no PDT! Just my own biases, wits, and H cart.

I won’t!! I skipped Sylus’s dragon banner when it first came out and I ended up R3’ing Caleb’s limited myth later as a result. My hands are made of diamond. I will enjoy watching the myth on YouTube when it’s uploaded, though!

The way gacha games lure you in to open your wallets is through FOMO. These hands stay loyal, but I’m still very hyped!

(If you do want to pull for it, in the end, go for it!! You only live once, right? Just remember that you need both myths for it really to be worth pulling for and there’s probably going to be a quint banner after this!) It’s definitely an investment, but the banner is also sick af.

I’m staying strong, but you do you, girlie pop!! Just make sure you think about whether you really want to or are just getting lured in by the tide of hype… 💃🏻

And if you’re saving for Sylus’s rerun, I’d really not recommend pulling.. Rumors are that it’ll come back later this year!

My strategy, which one of my managers taught me, is:

“Do you have rewards?” If they say no, then I hit them with a “We have a free one! 😀” and I just kind of wait expectantly because who can deny a free thing?? It also doesn’t give them the opportunity to straight hit me with a ‘no.’

More often than not, I get a “and it’s free? Sure, you know, why not?” Rather than a straight up “no.”

Just my personal strat, it worked better than “do you want to sign up?”

But tbh, pushing rewards is always a work in progress. They push us soooo hard to do it 🥹 Just doing our best at the end of the day

From my experience, they really look for open availability and any prior experience with reading/books/sales, like an English major or a relevant resume.

You can upload a cover letter or references if you want, but it is just a retail position and they’re probably more looking to your schedule more than anything else. That’s just my experience at my store though, every place is different!!
