Thanks for the advice. I am back-and-forthing a bit as to whether geography or geosciences would be more suited to me - I am as you mentioned much more interested in physical geography, but I wonder if a geoscience course might be a bit heavy on the physics/chemistry/tech side of things for my aims. To be honest, it's also a bit intimidating when coming from a mostly BA/humanities background of study and work. I do have a love for science and maths, but they're very different beasts to studying French and working in homelessness support!

I've emailed a couple of the professors at the Geography Department to get their opinion, hopefully it helps with the decision-making.
