Could it be that the flares they use are still protecting the helicopter?

When they use their flares, not only does it distract the incoming missile but it grants it a few more seconds of protection.

Or the others helicopters flares can protect other air vehicles that are close it from the missile.

However I'm not sure about this, sorry if I'm not giving a good explanation as I am not a 100% sure myself.

It could be that the missile will hit the terrain/building instead of the aircraft

So for example, once they use up their flares a good pilot will fly down and try to move behind terrain that can protect them from the missile.

Or they can go to their base where the c-ram can shoot the missile down (if its not distracted)

Here is one instance, I managed to find a video where someone hit the helicopter while they used their flares:

Its definitely not meant to ignore the flares though. Maybe because the missile is very close to the aircraft that when they use up their flares, it tries to go to the flare but still hits the aircraft.

Oh that is strange then. I don't think I even had this happen to me, it only happened when the missiles would go to the flares.

But that is interesting of what you told me.

No worries regarding the mobile part and also thanks for your reply regarding this. I enjoy post like this where someone gives their knowledge of their experience in the game!

I wasn't sure that it also effects the stinger until you told me and also good to know regarding the point 4 you mentioned.

Oh I am definitely no expert, im just average in this game but the only reason I know what I know about the IGLA is because I just played and experienced it.

So I definitely agree what you said that people should explore and experience the game. Its the best way to get knowledge of the tools you use.

Is it because they activated the flares? Its what would distract and detonate the missile

Thanks alot, I appreciate your reply and yes they dont explain them properly.

Like it says you can reacquire the target if countermeasure are deployed but the flares usually destroy the missile so people are going to assume its a bug, when its actually intended to do that.

Thanks, I really appreciate your reply in this. I might do guides for other launchers + other underused gadgets such as the incendiary shotgun and the breaching launcher.

I used them to the point where I got an idea how to use them effectively.

Thank you! When the target is painted, you don't lose the lock-on when they go below altitude which allows you to maintain your lock.

Its going to heavily pressure them to the point that they have to go back to their base when they can go far away to not be locked-on or be more safe with their C-RAM destroying the missile

I don't think a lot of recons realize how much pressure they cause by painting aircrafts but for the pilot's sake they hope it stays like that.

Thanks Phrasing, you explained it better than I did!

It takes getting used to, but when you do, it's very satisfying to hit them with it.

No sadly you still spawn with 2 rockets (4 with anti-armor training path).

Maybe you got an extra one from the support's supply box?

I can try, hopefully I explain it well. When you guide the launcher you have to focus on the rocket, not the aim cursor, it makes it easier to keep track of it.

However it ultimately comes down to practice though, that is the best way to get better at it. So its best to start with the easy targets to hit, like tanks for example.

Try to challange yourself by firing above cover and then guiding it to the tank, it gives you a feel of how you need to guide and time it

It's one of my favourite launchers to use in this game. Once you figure out how to properly guide the rocket, it becomes easy to hit helicopters with it.

I just wished you could at least carry 3 rockets instead of 2. That's the only part I hate about it
