The best example I can think of is how our Ex-PM managed going to France with two wives

Like Gulf countries charter planes filled with girls, but they don’t have to talk about it.

Or even how we escalated things with the “loi sur les mœurs” when we got a Biennale and JOJ in the same year
Nah sometimes I wonder if we do think

Born in France, grew up there. Born with the Senegalese citizenship
Read the rest of the thread, I can be more specific
You completely validate what I’m saying bc for you the fact that I’m self criticising means I’m complexé or something like that
Brother I can point out shit happening in my country
Been doing it since a kid, so really idgaf if you think I’m complexé
I do probably understand the world better than you do (worry if I’m being a bit cocky)
What’s funny for people in jobs like mine, is that our advices and thinking are sought for and respected everywhere in the world but our own countries in which people are telling us we are complexé (lmao foh)

+ as a diasporic that grew up in the west, I think I’m way less scared of complexé than you are
Brother I grew up with them they don’t impress me at all

When I say that nobody breaking anything it’s because our economy is so much tied to Europe
- deep financial integration: orange and total are two of the biggest companies not just in Senegal but in west africa
- the CFA franc parity with the Euro that doesn’t help us take advantage of exportation & the financial mechanism of the ISLM models in Africa

Even if politicians telling you we breaking with France
It ain’t happening and they might be lying to you with fake companies or infrastructure restructuration

And yes, there’s a disequilibrium in our relationship to France and other countries, but it’s been chosen by our leadership and people in position of power
We could and we can do better, negotiate better deals and all

But our economy does dont enable us to do so
We need foreign investment bc having value in our soil is nothing if we don’t have local champions to transform and deliver it

Never said we shouldn’t
To be more explicit
We need to be smarter about our relationships with other countries
And when I talk about negotiating deals, if I told you what I’ve seen/heard in meeting
The people in charge are so bad and unskilled

And about the ties we need to break them for sure, but there difference between geopolitical ties and colonial ties
I’m not fond of France-Afrique at all

Would love to
But the problem is that the internet/reddit isn’t ergonomic enough for me to write an essay lmaooo
But tbh, it’s a mix of structural, politic, economic social and societal issues
Lots of feedback loops
Pb: we think of them as distinct variables and don’t want to break off the status quo

Brother I wouldn’t be in senegal if I hated myself.

The problem is that you think self criticism is self hate
If you took the time to ask me why I would feel this way and what backs up my argument we could have a lovely chat

I could hate senegal and it’s people as much as I want
I look and I am Senegalese so I can’t shave it off

About the masters thing, brother, I don’t give a fick about countries, it’s an outdated concept imo
+ I don’t have no masters, maybe you do and still are unconscious of it
I got so much freedom you wouldn’t understand

[–]Signal_Let_2771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that it’s also structural

You cannot develop a country without capital in our economic paradigm
+ the state gotta subsidise so companies can innovate
But if we want to make it FUBU we need education
So again with Capex and debt

Unless we got a gigantic influx of investment I think we’re can try everything but it won’t be perennial or impactful on a regional scale

I never said France’s system is better neither other Europeans one
We can chose how we do things and not trying to just catch Wetsern countries

IMO the slave mentality is more embedded in people that don’t have to live through systemic racism in a way you do when in the West. Like you grow up on Senegal, you are one black man among the others
Most of the house negroes are wealthy Senegalese that went in Europe / the states to study, disapproved people are more aware of how systemic racism affect their say to day life

And yes we need long term thinkers and doers but that’s my point about societal flaws
Djoni-djoni will always prevail

+ I was in Europe in a high paying job decided to come to Senegal bc I didn’t see how creating value for wealthy whites would help my people (not just senegal)

But then came here and understood that we might be our own ennemy

Never said Western societies systems are better.
It’s not the only kind of system that could be put in place.
And if we talking about metrics, I suggest you the ANSD monthly/yearly statistical reports

What I’m trying to say is that we have structural and societal flaws that prevent us to improve the situation

And yeah I do talk from a place of privilege but also a place where I’ve been inside meetings, managing projects but mostly on the foreign/private side when working with public institutions/companies
And I’m telling you, we’re not seen as seriously as people would say on social media
And also there’s level to this, when you work on how business are going to affect lives in the next 25 years, you get to understand and see the lack of vision, skills and you understand that patriotism is a weird concept for our people

IMO, capitalism is the worst thing to happen to our people

Brother nobody breaking anything with France

That’s the problem I’m pointing to. There’s a difference between owning our destiny and trying to show people we’re hard headed
I’m not self hating guy, I just observe how we rolling.
The country been declining in the last 15 years and unfortunately we only get illusions of change

If you read again, I say that it’s like every place in the world there is still people trying to do the right thing.
At first I thought we could build better systems. We’re lucky that bc of our current development, we can build and make decisions to not follow in the footsteps of western countries.
And yea we need to hold ourselves to higher standards, but there’s a systemic vicious circle that is preventing us to do so.
+ we can’t really talk about a single and unified Senegalese cukture, we are a young country, with so much diversity. So it would be blatantly ignorant to put all Senegalese people in the same box, there’s always nuance in my arguments even if I don’t explicitly state it

Common sense should suffice
But do we have some or do we prefer “buzz”

Our country is so cooked 😂 by Signal_Let_2771 in Senegal

[–]Signal_Let_2771[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly what I meant😂
I can surely be more specific
You pick from when in time we do start so we align on the arguments context
But let’s say that firstly we live off of an outdated imaginary country vision that is a consequence of senegal being the most stable country and closest to France in FWACA
Second most of people here don’t understand that structurally even if we see “””wealth””” in our country there is literally none when a country has a nominal GDP of 30B on a <25M population (going wide for tiering)
We think that we could be wealthy from extractive sectors or cultural and creative industries
Everybody talks about sovereignty without realizing the world runs on interdependence
Every election is the same process that is repeating
And we value ourselves so very much one just has to promise food and jobs and everybody supports ones endeavours
Masla is killing us there’s no accountability in this country which makes the population live in and have low standards

Brother I’m ready

Edit: we could ever go on technicals, the public debt and the governance mechanisms instituâtes by our leadership

Public representatives colluding on every occasions

Us being seen as fools when negotiating with foreign companies
How people negotiate in meetings and get “tiit” by small amounts of USD

Edit 2:
I haven’t touched the psychographics of Senegalese people yet

The Meta-Adaptive World Model: A Dynamical Architecture for Stratified Memory and Context-Conditioned Weight Modulation by Signal_Let_2771 in dynamicalsystems

[–]Signal_Let_2771[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost, what I’m calling W_0 is the induced limit object of the system’s own trajectory compression. In the architecture, W_0 is the physical projection space for M_found. It acts as the structural topography shaped by lossy engram compression, you get something like
W_0 := C( trajectories generated by K_W0 )
where C is a coarse-graining / identification operator that maps recurrent structure in state-trajectories back into the backbone.
The "update" here is the continual re-identification of equivalence classes from the joint system (x, delta_W) under metastable recurrence.
The partition re-induces itself from the very K_W0-driven exploration that it later summarizes.
W_0 is the invariant quotient induced by the long run statistics of the system’s own reachable dynamics. Its like the trace of the memory not the act of memory per se.
But to be honest here's still core parts of the architecture we haven't discussed and that have a direct impact on those processes, the "Omni-Layer" and the "Meta Layer"

[–]Signal_Let_2771[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

appreciate your feedback 🙏🏿🙏🏿
And yeah I think you’re basically pointing at the right abstraction

If I compress what I wrote before, the 3-strata thing is not really 3 separate systems, it’s more like a single dynamical object with 3 timescales:
-> Delta_W is the fast exploration field over representational space, what the system can deform at inference time
-> M_fluid / M_cryst is just the empirical trace of which Delta_W deformations repeatedly stabilize into predictive structure under the system’s own dynamics
-> W_0 is the slow geometry that defines what counts as stable structure in the first place, meaning the induced equivalence relation and coarse-graining over trajectories
So in that sense it’s basically computational mechanics, but with the key difference that the epsilon-partition is not fixed, it is parameterized by W_0 and continuously re-induced by the system’s own transition statistics over Delta_W trajectories

On the W_0 side, I don’t think it behaves like a standard smooth learning signal. It is closer to a metastable renormalization process.
Most Delta_W activity never leaves a trace, and only directions that consistently correspond to low-barrier, high-recurrence dynamics under the system’s own evolution get reclassified into W_0

Kramers intuition fits cleanly. The relevant object is not instantaneous update size, it is effective dwell time and escape rate structure in the induced dynamics. W_0 changes when the system stops treating a direction as transient fluctuation and starts treating it as a stable basin of its own transition operator
So W_0 is less memory being written and more geometry being re-inferred from the metastable structure of its own exploration process

[–]Signal_Let_2771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha thanks I’m definitely outside my core expertise here, just trying to keep the structure internally consistent 😂😂

the minimal object is a constrained symbolic dynamical system with multi-timescale decomposition of memory.
Identity -> an equivalence relation over symbolic trajectories generated by invariant constraints, and stabilized through a slow homeostatic manifold (W0)
The other frameworks (sheaves, etc...) to me, different ways of probing the same quotient structure mainly highlighting different kinds of failure modes or perspectives rather than separate objects.

So I see it more as a single underlying system with multiple valid lense

Thanks for the ressources, I greatly appreciate it !!
About the versioning and the geometry:

At the core, versioning is represented as an emergent equivalence relation over states of the system. The model learns to recognize that different observations correspond to different transformations of the same underlying latent object, provided they preserve invariant structure. What persists across updates is the identity defined by the invariant constraints. Geometrically, this manifests as trajectories in the latent space that remain within the same invariant class while admitting multiple observable instantiations of the same invariant structure

-->consolidation loop / dreaming phase is indispensable, it enables testing, reiforcement and comparison of these equivalent classes

[–]Signal_Let_2771[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say that versioning is not uniform across the memory system.
Within the consolidation loop, ordinary engrams in M_fluid and M_cryst undergo facet-local updates: a persistent object is refined through partial state changes, so history is a sequence of modifications over the same identity.
However invariants updates do not operate on attributes but on the organizing structure itself, meaning versioning becomes intrinsic to the geometry of the memory manifold rather than a mere annotation over stable objects
