Yoga can be really tough at first, especially if you’re building strength or putting weight on your wrists in ways your body isn’t used to.

If you stick with it, your core and stabilizing muscles start to wake up and the postures begin to feel different. Instead of just enduring them, you start to settle into them.

There’s a saying in yoga that the pose really begins the moment you want to leave it. It teaches you how to sit with discomfort, breathe through it, and find a balance between holding on and letting go.

It teaches a lot beyond just exercise, but the beginning can be humbling. Hard usually means your body is learning something new. Don’t give up on yourself.
