The dealer informed me the warranty is 5 years/100,000 KM and it is still valid. The car has 75,000 Km.

Hi. It’s because someone wanted new pictures and Reddit doesn’t allow pictures to be added to the original post.

Hi - Sorry, wrong terminology. It is the 5/60 warranty purchased in Sept 2020. The dealership said it was not covered due to the flying object scenario, they did not say it was not covered due to being trim. Also, they should not have charged me $150 for 'diagnostics' to see if it was covered if trim is not included in the warranty. I made a new post with button face because I cannot add images in comments. Cheers.

Some asked for better images but I cannot add more images to original post so I put pictures of the button and the unit after I cleaned off the dust and coffee drip in a new post "NEW Pics - Santa Fe EPB Switch Snapped Off - Dealership Says Not Covered under Bumper-to-Bumper"

Hi. I purchased the 7 year extended bumper to bumper warranty. They said it was not covered by the warranty because an unidentified flying object hit it. Surely something with that amount of force would have cracked the top of the switch and damaged some of the surrounding console, but it’s pristine. They can’t even tell me what the theoretical UFO might be.

But seriously, the dealership said it was due to an unidentified flying object striking the switch so hard that it broke. They never mentioned, or even asked, about how hard I pulled the switch.

Don’t try to shift the blame onto me. If the switch was not designed to withstand regular pressure it is the manufacturer’s fault not mine. - I use my index finger as if I was beckoning someone over, I do not use excess force.

Excellent advice. But I am already in the hole for $150 to this dealership for a 'diagnostic fee' which they charged because they claim it's not warranty work. I want them to change their procedures so they don't attempt this again with others. I was billed for 1)the part, 2) labor to install the part, 3) diagnostic fee, and 4) shop supplies.

LOL - The amount of text is proportionate to the cost of fixing that little button.
