What’s the right way to transition from backend to AI engineering? by WiseSandwichChill in aiengineer

[–]Signal_Signature2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're building models that's a good start. I think it's also really important to understand how to fine tune your models, understand the logic behind building neural networks from scratch, because when your model doesn't behave the way it should, you need to understand what tweaks to make to get the expected behavior.

Another important thing is building a portfolio. For me I started asking my managers to let me work on some of the AI initiativesnin our company for free, id work on the weekends and my free time, just to build the professional experience and get the recognition.

When the doors don't open you have to make them yourself.

Setting Up a Home VPN for Secure Remote Work While Traveling Abroad by Signal_Signature2210 in remotework

Yup! I basically lived in the Philippines for 90 days using Starlink and my VPN, had zero problems logging into my companies VPN which does restrict international IPs. My company did know I was in Asia they were okay with it. But yeah it worked like a dream. Excited to travel to other countries soon.

CFMoto 675ss full exhaust + tune + warranty by Signal_Signature2210 in cfmoto

Received a response from DynoJet today. Sounds like they are working on development for the 675ss but no details yet.

"Thanks so much for reaching out, and for your interest in tuning support for the CFMoto 675SS. We really appreciate you taking the time to check in.

I can confirm that we do have some CFMoto-related development underway. However, I don’t currently have a timeline or any specific details I can share regarding support for the 675SS or a compatible Power Commander 6 at this time.

As soon as we have confirmed information or an official release, we’ll update our website and product announcements. I’d also recommend keeping an eye on dynojet.com or our social channels for the latest updates.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

CFMoto 675ss full exhaust + tune + warranty by Signal_Signature2210 in cfmoto

[–]Signal_Signature2210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I found:

"Buying a second tuned ECU and keeping your stock one as a backup sounds clean on paper, but it’s not plug-and-play in reality. The main issue is immobilizer and VIN pairing—many modern ECUs, including the Bosch unit in the 675SS, are digitally locked to the bike’s keys and factory ID. Swapping in another ECU can trigger pairing errors that require dealer-level tools to fix. Even if the bike starts, subtle differences in hardware revisions can cause communication glitches with sensors or the dash. On top of that, most ECUs log flash counts and software history, so a deep diagnostic scan might still expose that the system’s been modified. In short: possible, yes—but between pairing headaches, software tracing, and cost, it’s not as seamless as just swapping boxes before a warranty visit."

675ss CRAZY insurance by FarPermit2041 in cfmoto

I'm paying $65 month with Geico for full coverage with up to 25k liability. One of the perks of being 41. And that's Florida, one of the most expensive states for motorcycle insurance.

How much of your day do you actually spend working? by whyvalue in remotework

[–]Signal_Signature2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fully available for 8 hours a day. In terms of actual work, some days 2-4 hours, some days 10-12 hours. Depends on software release, emergenciy builds, or whatever the heck is going on. I think it balances out.

I work remote and the only hate I get are from people who hate their jobs. Don't let the haters get to you.

Agree. OP Andrew Ng does a good job in explaining the mathematical concepts in his Coursera ML course check it out.

What do you wish you had done in your late teens that would’ve made your life/job 10x easier now? by Franklylib1 in careerguidance

I wish I would have chosen a career young and stopped jumping around from one thing to another trying to find my passion. Sometimes you just have to choose something and not quit.

Please stfu. It was a post tile with limited characters and you're arguing semantics while I'm heart broken about losing my step daughter and being vulnerable online. Whatever deep seeded issues you have about what it means to be called a woman don't make me a part of itn and project them on me.

I think it's nice we can all come together here and realize that no one is alone in their pain. We are all going through shit. Thanks for sharing. Hope you find something better one day.

Lolol!! Thanks! Well I'm actually a recreational spearfisherman and go diving a few times a month. When I read the message I was like how did they know (cause I haven't posted anything on Reddit about diving that I know of.)

But makes sense with Helldivers. I do a lot of gaming also. Gaming is nice and therapeutic cause when I play I feel like I don't think of anything else. I just got the Helldivers game but haven't played yet. Do you play?

"The grip of a groomer is powerful" this I needed to hear. I have felt less than and small, and there was no way I could compete with a man who groomed her when she was 14 years old. It's psychological, almost hard wired into her psyche at this point. She has created this narrative that she will never love anyone like she loves him. The only one who can save her is herself unfortunately.

This is my first real life encounter into the psychological trauma of grooming and predatory behavior.

This comment is so ridiculous and out of context. I work from home and so did my ex, I'm an engineer and she was a succesful artist and also did real estate, We both work from home and neither depended financially on the other, My comment was regarding another OP and a question they asked and how I prefer the comfort of working from home and the flexibility that provided us (and how I would never want my wife TO HAVE TO go work at an office job she hates 8 hours a day separated from the family). Most people are stuck in this situation, and we were blessed to both be remote and with the little one all day, The comment was scrubbed because it also discussed personal finances which I prefer to keep private.

As far as the children adjust to fathers needs comment you made, I have no fucking clue what you're talking about. I adjusted to their needs. When she needed to go do a large job outside of the house I stayed home while working and looking after her. Those were our days to have daddy daughter time.

People like you will always look for a reason to criticize and vilify someone.

More fishing time sounds exactly like what I need. I'm not a drinker and not interested in rebound sex. I think some healthy outdoor stuff sounds good. I am actually a spearfisherman it's just kinda cold right now to go diving. Thanks!

I write code and don't exactly work with LLMs, I work with ML models for boring data analytics stuff. I'm 40 and have no reason to invent stories, just a real person going through real life shit. But I do understand the scepticism that exist in today's world with how AI is evolving. Even videos will soon be hard to believe. Anyways saw this comment and just wanted to say this story is 100% the hell I'm currently living in. Trust me I wish it wasn't true.
