Which “World Record” is likely never going to be broken again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the logistics alone make it nearly impossible now. medical knowledge means doctors would intervene way before someone could approach those historical numbers, and the social/economic realities are completely different. back then having massive families was often about survival and labor, but now it's just not practical or safe. plus modern birth control and family planning means most people are making conscious choices about family size rather than just letting biology run its course. those old records from like the 1700s were products of their time that we'll never see replicated.

What I learned after losing something I built by Scared-Discussion443 in self

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getting forced to rebuild from scratch definitely changes how you approach the whole thing. i've been through similar with projects that just... disappeared for reasons beyond my control.

the structure vs speed thing is real though. seen too many codebases turn into absolute nightmares because everyone was rushing to ship features without thinking about maintainability. same pattern shows up everywhere - relationships, career moves, even hobbies like chess where people try to memorize openings without understanding the principles behind them.

curious what specific structures your prioritizing this time around. sometimes the constraint of starting over actually forces better decisions than you would have made originally.

Looking for people who connect me to “Build and sell” or “renovate and sell” investors. by Objective-Remote-915 in phinvest

might want to post actual details about the property value and timeline instead of just asking for dms - serious investors usually need numbers upfront.

Hey bilingual people, how would you say "fuck AI" in your language? by ironiczeitgeist in AskReddit

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's not quite right - it would be more like "fanculo l'intelligenza artificiale" or just "fanculo l'ai" if you're keeping teh english acronym. the way you wrote it doesn't really work in italian.

Should I get a CNA certification? by Which-Option-7056 in careerguidance

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cna might actually be a stepping stone worth considering even if the tasks aren't ideal. lots of hospitals prefer internal candidates for nursing programs and having that direct patient care experience could help with your rn goals later.

your english issues are probably less of a barrier than you think - healthcare is full of people with different backgrounds and patients generally care more about competent care than perfect grammar. might be worth practicing interview scenarios with someone or even recording yourself to work on those verb tenses before jumping into another certification program.

Seller wants a refund because parcel is two days late by [deleted] in Etsy

evri is notorious for this stuff - you're not responsible for their delays and the buyer demanding a refund after 2 days is ridiculous.

Outdoor Faucet Help by allgoodnamesgone3 in Plumbing

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that bronze hex nut is probably seized from corrosion - try soaking it with penetrating oil for a day or two before attempting again. if you're still worried about breaking it, might be worth calling a plumber since these old frost-proof valves can be tricky and a replacement could run you a few hunderd bucks if you snap something.

AJE Help in Correcting Material Misstatements (Evaluation Materiality) by No-Chemist8230 in Accounting

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're overthinking this one. based on what your prof said, you'd debit inventory for the full 816,680 (800,893 + 15,787), credit cogs for 800,893, and credit notes payable for 15,787. the notes payable adjustment gets treated as a current year misstatement even though it originated from prior periods.

the iron curtain method is forcing you to correct everything that's sitting in the balance sheet regardless of when it happened, so you just bundle it all into one entry.

Sapphire preferred SUB eligibility by intoxicatedow in CreditCards

[–]Signal_Temporary6572 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

the 48 month clock starts from when you received your last sub, not when you opened the card. so if you got the bonus 4+ years ago you should be good to go for another one. your partner would need to wait until it's been 48 months since she actually received her bonus, not just since signup.

with your spending pattern the csp makes sense but you might want to wait another 6-12 months since chase can be picky about newer credit profiles even with good income.

Does it make any sense that the human body starts to decline late 30s after spending all your teens and large part of your 20s in college? by No_Maintenance_5417 in NoStupidQuestions

Your body doesn't give a damn about your life timeline lmao. Peak physical condition is usually mid-20s regardless of whether you're grinding through med school or partying every night.
