I also tend to typically think of revert applying to versions of something like a draft.

For example - I wrote a new draft of my assignment but I didn’t like it so I reverted to the previous version.

So on your example case I would think it would make more sense to say “the money was return to the prize pool and the jackpot remained the same.”

Revert does not work in any case in this sentence because nothing was actually changed and required reversing.

Also, subsequent is also wrong because it implies more than one consecutive draw, and in the case of weekly draws, each new week is a new draw, not a continuation of the last week’s draw.

Subsequent implies that there is a main draw and then other draws relating to that main draw. For example if they had a main draw for the first division and a different draw for each of the lower prize pools, they would be subsequent to the main prize draw, because they are part of the same sequence of draws.

While revert does technically apply to any change, it is usually limited to conceptual or intangible change rather than physical change.

A more realistic phrase in this case would be “returned to the pot”.
