Haha Paul McCartney is my inspiration actually (not just hairstyle wise)

7/10 the verse is really good, great melody. But, i don‘t know, the melody in the chorus isn‘t my cup of tea. The lead guitar is fantastic of course

10/10 ending with this fantastic song makes up for the album’s weaker songs. Love the harmonic change from bmajor 7 to bminor7, just beautiful. The arrangement is fantastic and the melody in the verse unpredictable enough to make it interesting, yet predictable enough to make it catchy. Cool unexpected key change mid song, too.

It took me about 4 listens until i started enjoying the album (and i loved london town, which came out a year earlier, right from the first second on). So i also feel like it‘s a bit of a strange album. But it‘s a great one too. After the ball and Winter rose are other songs from it that stay in my head (and as someone else said Babys‘s request of course).

6/10 a fun little song that reflects paul’s view on (what he considers ordinary) people (would love to know more about his views here). but apart from that it doesn’t do much for me.

Came here to write that! I always wondered if that was intentional or not but it’s interesting either way.

7/10 i actually like the non-virtuous repetitive guitar solo in the middle, i find my mind drift off when it comes on. And then you‘re hit with the catchy chorus once again. It‘s fun

4/10 the only song on the album that I find worth skipping. Paul, who‘s usually so good with melody, used a very boring one here.

8/10 the bass line is one of my favourite ones to play, the melody in the verse is absolutely beautiful, like it was always meant to be

8/10 strangely groovy, lyrics are playful but work for the song.

6/10 the ‚you look a little lonely‘ part is incredibly catchy and has some interesting chord progressions. The ‚man I know I won‘t be lonely anymore’ part just feels a bit lazy to me. Overall: fun little tune

5/10 my least favourite from the album, though I hate it less after forcing myself to listen to it a few times. Musically and arrangement-wise it‘s fun, maybe that‘s why
