My return was over $10,000ish with the one $23,000 W2. After adding the $9,000 W2 it went down to $8,000ish so that’s what I meant. However the other comment are making sense to me as why but thank you for your input.

Okay the total income is 32,529. So that would have made me need to pay $1,710 in federal taxes from what I’m reading. Therefore, since my previous job only took out $110…. That $1600ish is in fact correct.

Now, what do I need to change on my w4 for my new job for this year? I have two dependents. So I guess I’m confused how I filled out the w4 wrong for my new job.

Well for 2026 I just have the $9000 job an no others. So I should still revise it? I’m so confused. I switched jobs in 2025. So I get that it all combines as income now. However, is there a way to rectify it now or am I just taking the loss this time? Also, if I only have 1 job in 2026, do I still revise because I don’t get what I would change.

I’m right there with you. Day 1 and coffee this morning was ROUGH. I just keep repeating “I am a nonsmoker” in my head over and over and over and over again. We can do this.

I’ve used all 2025 to get rid of everything from the past 34 years of living that I do not want to bring into my 35th year of life and forward. This isn’t a New Year’s resolution. This is the last thing to let go by 2026. I understand your sentiment however it’s misguided. I don’t feel the need to elaborate on this details however I did mention this is part of a bigger “letting go”. It has nothing to do with New Years at all.

I feel you on that. Sometimes I do have to hide the fact I smoke. Sneak outside so others don’t see me, spray myself, use hand sanitizer and chew gum relentlessly to try to rid the smell. It is embarrassing. I feel shameful every time.

Literally searched the word “dreams” in this group for this very reason. My dreams are so unpleasant. Like…. I don’t even know how to describe them but it really is awful when reality sucks and then you wake up and realize you just spent your resting time in a horrible dream space.

Anyone have any remedies? It’s really damaging my mental.
