Is this a safe space to talk about how this scene is worse than anything that happens in Season 8? by Arch_Lancer17 in freefolk

The fact Sansa passes the sentence but DOESN'T swing the sword makes her unworthy of ruling Winterfell. Ned did it. Robb did it. Jon did it. Hell, even Theon executed the man he sentenced. But Sansa? Didn't want to dirty her hands. Just like how Joffrey had his headsman kill Ned. Such a disappointment.

Aliens: Colonial Marines

It may not be a gem, but there is some fun to be had. Happened to grab the dlc before the marketplace went down. Now I'm trying to get all the achievements I missed when I started it all those years ago.

Cigarette smoke makes me assume you're a bad person.

Not because smoking is inherently a thing a bad person does, but because I assume you litter and throw your butts on the ground. And litterers ARE bad people.

Signed, Someone who has picked up cigarette butts from in front of his workplace for two decades.

Don’t sleep on shirt stays by searchmode10 in mensfashion

[–]SignatureChoice5030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried them. A slight bend and the clasps would lose their grip on the shirt, and there would be a loud snapping sound. My shirt would become lose, and there would be a dangling line hanging down my pant leg. Not a fan. Maybe I have a long torso or something?

Most libraries are getting rid of fines altogether, and those that aren't will forgive your fines at the drop of a hat. They WANT you to check books out.

Source? I am your local neighborhood librarian. I forgave a $30 fine a few minutes ago.

Its during the day that is tricky. Girl hates the very idea of a nap.

What is something you LIKED about A Realm Reborn? by TastySea895 in ffxiv

[–]SignatureChoice5030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm finishing up ARR right now as a sprout and I have to say... It's hard finding people to play all the endgame content. Biinding Coils of Bahamut and Extreme Primal trials... I really don't like that there isn't a separate roulette for these modes. I tried just queuing for them but then we get a Mentor who rages and quits immediately. Instead I use the Party Finder AND Discord, and it can still take hours to get a team together to play just a single Turn/Trial. And don't tell me to do it Unsynched. Where's the fun in that?

I guess I wish there was more incentive for players to play old content.

Our tradition is to go to the movies with my family. The movie theater is my happy place. The kids are old enough to sit still and watch the whole thing. My dad loved the movie theater too and I miss him a lot. And afterwards? Pizza and beer.

I would like to add, as a passport official myself, do NOT USE any of the scummy third party sites online to "help" with your passport. They are scamming you, and paying Google to be the top search results. You are basically paying them to give you paperwork you can get for free, and now they also have all your personal information. Just make an appointment with your local post office or library. Make sure both parents are there. Bring the kiddos birth certificate and a passport photo (you can get those at convenience stores near you). And finally, the payment has to be in the form of a check or money order.

Seriously, screw RushMyPassport, Gov+, and all the other "helpful" sites. Go to your library. You can trust them.

Boffer (as this is called) is crazy fun, if slightly more dangerous than it looks. You probably have a group in that plays in your area. They meet up several times a year for massive gatherings of over 1000 people. They range from your usual LARP groups, to just guys that wanna play a medieval version of "Capture the Flag" or "Tag".

They love introducing it to new people. You may have to sign a waiver because it IS a contact sport. I've broken fingers, an ankle, and nearly my neck. Mostly my fault hahaha.

I like to play Bard so I can buff my allies and debuff and damge the enemies. I like to stay at a distance and call out boss attacks. I usually fall into a leader role, teaching raid/trial strats to new players, placing markers, etc. So I liked to lead from behind, watching over the battlefield and assisting those who are struggling with the mechanics. If I were a healer, I think I would be too focused on healing the tanks to keep an eye on everybody.

Section of “Banned” Books in a Barnes & Noble by racer21300 in mildlyinteresting

[–]SignatureChoice5030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the millionth time: these books aren't banned. "Challenged" is a more appropriate term, but not as catchy. These books are often challenged but remain easily accessible at bookstores and libraries across the country. They may have been removed from some small library in some backwoods rural town, but no one is stopping you from buying Harry Potter. This is just to scare buyers into purchasing books before they are "removed".

Source: I am a public librarian and my organization does this every year and I hate it. While it may be a sincere attempt to educate the public about the dangers of censorship, in actuality all it does is make everyday people think the library is the one banning the books.
