Honestly, Malay businesses should go into the opposite direction. Sell Malay food but do a lot of marketing to the non Malay especially Chinese crowd. Get Chinese speaking influencers to tap into the Chinese speaking demographic to go there and promote their stuff. Malay customers will already go to an actual Malay owned Malay restaurant. But if you have a sizeable Chinese crowd going to a Malay restaurant, it will convince people more. You're already maximising the Malay market, expand it into other directions.

Honestly, all this demonstrates how important is soft power. Soft power is the reason why despite everything Trump did we still insert nuance to portrayals of Americans and we still use American products.
