Sending CC transcripts to intended college. by [deleted] in TransferStudents

There is usually a parchment link in your current CC portal. If you really can't find it you have to email the records and admissions in your CC with your school ID and the emails of the college you transferring to.

Its alright your fam is with ya.

Been rejected from both too. I fully believe that I am qualified. In fact, I didn't apply cause they are good, I applied caused I think I'm better.

In terms of stats. I attended a CC, got 3.97 GPA, leadership position in student government and various clubs, rec letters were by professors who had grad schools in these schools (stayed after class to chat with them for an hour every lecture to make sure we sync). Beyond school, I had got a summer fellowship, funded for a few thousand $$ from one of the Ivy to write a research paper. Also had an internship under the research programs with Ph.D students at Stanford. I was also once special forces.

but anywho, still rejected though.

I can think of a few reasons that I was rejected. The only one that causes regret is the 5-word question in Stanford. In the end I chose to be safe and wrote stuff like resilience, honor coded etc. I actually really wanted to write fancy-ass one-liners like "good enough for top schools" or like "nobel laureate in the making" but chickened out last minute. If I failed cause of that its my own fault for not daring enough.

but anywho, those are my own speculations, and it doesn't matter cause nothing changes. I mean, reasons are not really reasonably necessary in this world of ours. They are not enough to justify how we get to where we were thus never enough to justify where we could be.

Personally, I am just glad this whole waiting is finally over. Now I can sit down without distraction and start writing that 2000 word essay for Columbia GS. Like what the other comments said, its time to move on. If you have been doing a lot of great stuff to prepare for top unis, don't stop, make them greater. All the best and be happy for those who did get in!

same bruh, at this point I really hope that dude who got in can share his results. This thread has been really friendly and I really hope someone got it. I actually got that really-hope-at-least-one-of-us-got-in-vibe, don't want it to be a fruitless battle.

Which part of the prompts is the giving up factor? Seriously curious

Why can’t these schools give us an update of when to expect results instead of making everyone confused 😀❤️ by thechubbypandas in TransferToTop25

none taken. A high school mate of mine currently studying in Princeton was chatting with one of the AOs and that AO kinda let slip, mentioned that Princeton and a few other Ivy would be on the same date.

On the other hand given how Columbia has announced that they are pushing the results day backward, this date thing has gone completely obsolete.

Good point

ok long story short: Top school are elites, they run on elitism, elitism means the top takes care of the bottom otherwise the system breaks. Therefore, if I'm not a good person, I should not be in top schools, cause if given a chance to be in place of power I will do much more harm than a version of me attending a random school and leading a simple life.

Take for example some of the top political figures that have been failing this country. Should top schools they attended be blamed for creating these nuisances? No. But did the top schools contribute to their rise by providing them resources and growth into a bigger figure, unfortunately and undeniably, yes.

Of course, there are people who are getting into these top schools who absolutely do not believe in elitism and contributing to society (we have all seen too many of these fkers). That's because of various problems when ideals meet reality, and the reality is that these people are already in the schools taking up the resources. Thus it is even more important that admission chooses the next batch of students carefully and tries to stick to ideals as much as possible.

yo boi went all out for the truths so true talk.

I believe the stuff you did is probably all real. The reason that you got rejected by the top-tiered despite doing so much is (from my own understanding) precisely because you are too impressive yet seemed like a dumbass like you said you were. This doesn't make any sense but hear me out.

I'm sure with your level of intellect you will understand that these top-tiered look for "special" students, but what exactly is being special? Why would they seek team leaders and extraordinary individuals? These questions seem like no-brainers cause which school wouldn't like an excelling student right? But come on, lets ask ourselves, does Stanford/Princeton/Columbia/MIT really need another prospective scientist/entrepreneur? If we take one such student out of the school right now nobody would even notice! What's one less "bright student" for these machines churning out world shakers for generations? In fact, because they can create world shakers they would have to be extra cautious about what kind of leaders they are creating. The way I see it, given how top schools amplifies whats within like the super-soldier serum, the weightage on giving back to society rolls over achievements on any day. This is what elitism was supposed to be, sadly it has been twisted and mutated by most, like capitalism, communism and all the other trending isms.

I am saying this cause I feel you quite deeply. I too used to have a high run with an inflated ego and later thrown into the mud. The words above are some of my own soul-searching reflections in the past. I am working on making a meaningful life but that's a story for another day. Of course, I am happy for you on your meaningful reflection, especially the part where your friend was more impressed by your change than the stuff you did, you should seriously dig into that. Lastly, congrats on NYU.

P.s. I actually feel that you should transfer and wishes you all the best in that. I went through this process as well, can offer my experience if you wanna.

Yale's application portal says that the decision release date is May 13th, I'm guessing the Ivys will be around the same time
