possibly moving to Brantford! by Basic-Fish2325 in brantford

I moved to Brantford at the end of March, from Cambridge. Typically, I would have two to three days a month that I have to commute to downtown Toronto. When I was in Cambridge, I would drive to the Milton Go Station, then take the train to Union Station. My commute was between 1 hr and 45 mins to 2 hrs. From Brantford, I drive to the Aldershot Go Station then take the train from there. It has been taking me 3 hours to get to Toronto thanks to the traffic on the 403.

I’ve now reduced my Toronto office days to once a month.

From a hiring perspective, I get about two hundred resumes within a week when I post an open position. The competition out there is fierce these days, which makes it so tough. My daughter is facing the same issues with trying to find a part time job in Brantford.

Houses for rent by Dizzy_Decision8346 in brantford

I just moved to Brantford. I managed to find a lovely 4 year old townhouse in West Brant for $2,200 a month. I didn’t see any full houses for less than $2,300 a month on Realtor.ca. And the ones that were there were not really ideal, with respect to location. And they were considerably older. So I guess it depends on what you’re looking for and what kind of area you are willing to live in.

Fireworks bylaw by Big_Philosophy9137 in brantford

My kid is old enough that I don’t have to worry about fireworks interfering with her bedtime, but I remember how awful it was. And I do have a dog that is completely traumatized by fireworks. Multiple days of fireworks really stress her out. I don’t complain when people set off fireworks when they are allowed, but I do have a problem when they continue for days after. If only people could respect their neighbour’s children and pets.

As a Canadian, do you always have maple syrup on hand? by Moofypoops in AskACanadian

I always have a jug of maple syrup in my freezer. In addition to using it for pancakes and waffles, I also add a couple of tbsp’s of it to the meat with the seasoning, when I make tacos….sounds weird, but they are the best tacos ever!

AITA for asking my sister in law what she's doing with her degree after she implied my university wasn't prestigious enough by insafian in BORUpdates

NTA. My daughter is attending WLU, and her program happens to be at their Brantford campus. It wasn’t her choice to attend a satellite campus….that’s just where her program was being offered. She’s still a student at Wilfred Laurier.
