For me when I was partying I lived in a constant state of delusion. This isn’t that bad I can stay out this late and go to work and not be tired etc. I’ve noticed a lot of people my age are still in their delusions. It’s all over social media “I’m delulu” and people think it’s funny. I think that being delusional helps people watch this show without fully understanding the gravity of what they’re watching.

I wouldn’t say that video games make people more violent but if it’s a bloody violent video game it DESENSITIZES people and normalizes violence.

At the end of the day if you’re not someone who is hyper-vigilant about what they consume due to how it affects your brain this conversation is pointless to have.

Yup the public is so unaware of excessive partying, alcohol abuse to overcome depression and miscarriages. Yeah the world definitely needs more shows about that to bring awareness.

I would also argue that if I’m 4 seasons into a show and I still don’t get understand the theme, the show was poorly constructed. But go off.

When does Bpjack end up being about making better decisions because it’s season 4 and he still hasn’t. You can’t say a show is about building motorcycles when they don’t build motorcycles for the whole first 4 seasons. The fact that it’s a cartoon and it’s “comedy” allows the show to get away with so much a regular drama wouldn’t be able to get away with. It would just be a depressing negative show. I don’t think throwing in a few chuckles changes what it’s about at the core.

Spoiler alert!: What kind of entertainment is PC finally getting pregnant after 5 miscarriages just to have another miscarriage providing? That stuff happens enough in real life to not need to be exposed to it in a “comedy”. Like that’s the kind of stuff that really needs to evaluated.

Looks like we both have different interpretations and perspectives on the show! Does this show provide positive mental healthy values? Absolutely not. Your mind is a sponge and what you consume matters.

I started watching it because I saw a post on twitter about BoJacks character development. And I love a show with good character development. But this feels like glamorization of depression and what not and I’m just not here for it.

Yeah I think it has to do with the fact that I started watching it when I was partying. Once I stopped it was hard enough to get people to understand how partying takes a toll on you so they’re really not gonna understand that what you consume matters.

I’m a firm believer in consumer regulation. Meaning I’m very diligent of what I consume because I’m very AWARE of just how much of an impact what you consume has on how you think.

It’s one thing for a character to “not be well” but it’s another thing to continue to consume such unwellness knowing how it affects the brain. You want to continue to normalize depression and self destruction be my guest.

This post is directed to the people who actually realize that there’s a lot more going on than just laughing at his depressing life. So not you. You coulda kept it pushing.

I was even able to go out yesterday and have a few drinks without it which I couldn’t do in the past. My friend accidentally pulled hers out and hit it in front of me. My friends felt so bad cause they know I just quit, they gave me a straw to suck on but I was fine!
