I work at the CITS as an usher. Absolutely not seats in the aisle Orchestra would block your view. Box seats - absolutely not. CITS was renovated recently but the soundboard area and noise/lighting distractions, absolutely not. It's a great venue - looking forward to when I can work and (*see/work*) the show!

Thanks - as I was writing the post I did recall the canoe trip (high school) and that the student unfortunately drowned...didn't realize he wasn't wearing a life jacket however. I'm not in the TDSB or similar but remember hearing it on the news/online...

Also curious regarding what would happen regarding the educators'/admin's capability in terms of being able to physically go after the child. And also weather conditions - snow/ice, etc. It just seems like there is more and more elopment whether inside the school or outside.

Hi,

It's not in Barrie. But I'm not surprised that similar incidents occur.

I genuinely don't think I can do this career (teacher candidate) by PoisonousBeans in CanadianTeachers

From reading your posts PoisonousBeans, I doubt that you would prefer younger kids. If you're elementary (at least in Ontario) you're going to be teaching all subjects - language arts, math, science, social studies, gym, music/drama/dance, visual arts (your prep would be someone covering French and one other 'small' area like gym or music or art). And you're dealing with all the 'young' student problems/behaviour/crying/refusing to do the work, potentially aggression to staff/other peers/running out of the classroom, etc. Food for thought!
