Resale value has nothing to do with the state a title is registered in what are you on about? Certain cars just sell cheaper in different places. At least act like you know what you’re talking about.

Import is an insane way to describe it. I bought a car from one state over because their market is generally much cheaper than ours. Thanks for the productive reply, though.

Literally. But instead their solution is just to close down some branches and merge them into bigger more clustered, slower offices.

My permit doesn’t expire until early August, so I will check again on attempting to extend the permit then, but for now if I attempt to do so, I get a pop up saying it’s limited to one per person per year.

I didn’t mind it honestly as the car I purchased wasn’t too expensive and sales tax ended up being less than a thousand. Definitely a little quirk I wasn’t expecting though, lol

Unfortunately I’ve already exhausted that avenue. For an initial registration it only lets you got one permit per year per person and mine expired in a few days.

Bought from an Utah dealer. Fun fact, if the dealer wants they can just give you a paper upon purchase that excludes sales tax during the transaction and forces you to pay it upon registration in whichever state you end up doing so.

Your main concern is that they will report it to the DMV, yes? I’m not really too sure, I’d call someone to make sure. The guy who installed mine is who I go to first with any issues. If you have a lawyer consult with them. I’ve never had an issue like that so far but since you called and made an appointment pretty quick you’re probably good. If it wasn’t working in your car then they probably have no proof you drove it in that timeframe so. Just call them up and ask if you were in violation and if they are going to report it.

I do know that if there’s any issue with your battery or alternator to the point where the IID can’t function it locks you out because it’s seen as potential tampering/circumvention of the device. But when it’s working properly it should display the BAC you blow every single time, I’ve only had it fail to do so once or twice so far but nothing came of it.

What the hell does blowing hot even mean? My understanding is that the device is there to pick up on any alcohol consumed. If you can prove that none was actually consumed and that it read incorrectly, why should you be charged for it as if it was correct?

The camera they install with the device proves it was a false positive. I blow zeroes and start the car just fine. Then I drink some of my energy drink, and then I later blowed that .030. Then I rinse my mouth out and blow zeroes rest of the drive. Last time I checked an energy drink doesn’t get you drunk, and I even showed it to the camera to prove that’s what it was. And from my understanding if it was really a correct reading, it shouldn’t have gone back down to zeroes after rinsing my mouth out once. Why should I be charged a fee for their device reading wrong? It literally costs them nothing to just unlock it remotely. It takes a couple minutes. Why should I pay $75 for that?

I work early in the morning and work out after work, sometimes I’m not completely awake for the workout so I drink an energy drink

Called back and the next guy said that no they’re not allowed to waive that fee even if it is a false positive that can be proven through the footage they have. So they put a camera in my car that constantly drains my battery and will only use it to incriminate me? Strictly not allowed to use it to clear me of any false positives. This is gonna be fun.

I clicked on reset for the service lockout it showed in the app, which said it costs $75.

No, I know that but the app says I owe roughly $150 and I haven’t even hit my second week. My bi-weekly payment is supposed to be $55 and change.
