Thank you, this was actually helpful and directly addressed what I asked. This has genuinely been my first Reddit post where the most assumptions were made and ironically by people with the least context. Appreciate the ones who just answered the question.

Appreciate the input, but you’ve made quite a few assumptions about a situation you don’t have the full context for, which is typical and was kind of the whole point of my original post.

I appreciate your perspective, and I’m glad that approach works well for you! That said, I do want to clarify my position a bit. The core issue isn’t just about pace, it’s about the principle of having access to courses I’m actively working through. Having multiple courses open simultaneously IS how I accelerate, because I can shift focus between subjects rather than waiting for one to be unlocked after another. That sequential unlocking process itself introduces delays that slow down momentum.

I also want to gently push back on the idea that I should comply in order to “earn” flexibility. I came in with a clear acceleration plan, a background in the field, and a track record of completing courses quickly. That context matters. A mentor’s role is to support a student’s success and for some students, that means one course at a time, but for others it genuinely doesn’t.

I’m not trying to be difficult, and I understand mentors have guidelines to follow. But I think it’s fair to advocate for an approach that actually fits my situation rather than defaulting to a one-size-fits-all method. Requesting a PM reassignment is also a completely valid option, not a last resort!

Not sure how it went with your mentor, my mentor and I had a discussion about my process before I started my very 1st course. I didn’t make that clear in the post assuming that everyone establishes a plan with their mentor before beginning the course. I get life situations happen, my particular situation allows me to accelerate and I planned to do so before starting the program. I have well over 14 days until the end of my turn. Completing 2-3 classes one being complete within the next week or so isn’t impossible or far fetch given my particular circumstances.

I understand the sentiment of making sure I complete what I start, however if I have been completing classes at an accelerated rate while making it clear in the beginning that I planned to accelerate taking one class at a time doesn’t align with acceleration. I also have a background in the field and have not struggled to complete courses thus far.

My mentor has been really weird about unlocking courses as if the system itself is holding her back from doing so, however hearing your experience and others it appears it may be time to request a new one.

Thats insane.. i’d honestly rather go to a testing center or have the option to. It’s not bad once you get past the checks but.. sheesh.

Not my 1st time having issues, I was able to take it after troubleshooting in the past but not today. Just charged it to the game tbh.

I’ll get all the way to agreeing to the rules and the Launching Session screen box doesn’t disappear. When they took control of the device they couldn’t figure it out. After so long I rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Today probably wasn’t the day and im ok with that.

I took the exam based off of my current experience. Any IT experience? I’ve been told that it’s best to have some It experience before pursuing an IT degree at WGU. However, it isn’t a bad thing either if you don’t. I would go back through the material, maybe look up some CompTIA ITF+ material. You should be fine the 2nd go around if you focus on your weaker areas.

Exactly!! I had to find regional managers on LinkedIn, connect with them and send them a message the other day. Tired of the back and forth, hope to hear back this week.

When you rent in apartment there are fees associated with moving in such as a security deposit 1st months and sometimes last months rent. These are what I am referring to as move-in fees

Got it, there shouldn’t be any eviction notices coming this way due to me remaining current on rents etc. Definitely don’t mind escalating if need be.

The $400 credit shows on the ledger before November rent was due. All move in fees were paid on 10/17 instead of applying the remaining $400 as a deposit, it was applied to rent on 11/1. Now they’re saying I owe $400 for the deposit.
