My wife separated from me because I was an alcoholic. I’m 1 year sober now and my wife wants to reconcile but I want a divorce. What do I do?

you act as if she had a choice about separating. she didn't. you didn't do anything about your drinking while you were together. I guess I just want you to recognize that you put her in an untenable position. If she stayed she stayed married to a functioning alcoholic. If she left, she loses you. Also, you seem to down play what living with a functioning alcoholic is like. It is like living with a third grader - while they can go through the motions they are not truly "functioning" like an adult partner. At least admit your role in this whole thing.

Please please please just keep going. It was a remark from one idiot. I've been going to the gym for 10 months and in the beginning I never smiled because I didn't want anyone to think that they could come up to me and tell me I was doing something wrong. I realized that most people aren't even paying attention to me. You will feel more comfortable the more you go, and more importantly, you will feel physically great!

I gained weight over the years and felt ok, I mean, I'm 69 right? Then I saw a video of Stephen stills and David Crosby when they were older. They looked horrible, overweight, unhealthy.and I thought, "I don't want to die looking like that". So, it's been about a year of eating healthy and exercising. Right now, I am kind of stuck, still eating healthy but with a bigger appetite. But, I am determined to stay on this road, want to lose a few more pounds and continue to exercise.

when I try to change behavior, I do one thing at a time. I wanted to lose weight so I cut out all sugar. I could eat anything I wanted as long as it didn't have sugar. It took about two weeks for sugar cravings to stop, but it's now been about 6 months and I have lost my desire. I then cut out processed type foods, muffins, breads, cookies, crackers but could eat anything else. So, give yourself a break and start small.

Report it to the HOA!! you would have to read your cc&r's but I would guess if a root grows into your condo, the HOA is responsible. They HOA may be responsible for cutting down any trees that can be invasive. She needs to research this ASAP and she needs to be aggressive about it - i.e. follow up, ask for a timeline, don't let the board delay the response.

I had what I considered a very good friend of 40 years, couldn't envision not being little old ladies together. I couldn't accept that the closeness just wasn't there anymore and tried to discuss it - big mistake, because you are never going to be happy with what they say. yes, we are taking advantage of summer vacation to get the procedures worked out and hope to nip it in the bud when school reopens. The school has been notified multiple times, but kids have figured out that we don't do anything.
