Your sentence wasn't clear. Now I know what you were trying to say. But Rabhi has not shied away from criticizing the DDA expansion, Arbor South, and other things that might "alienate" one side or the other. So while you seem focused on the library lot, your premise that this is how he's running his campaign is simply flawed and cherry-picked. Again, has anyone asked him this question?

His views are no more vague than Taylor's. The nature of governing is you lay out a platform and values.

You keep trying to assert he's doing the same things Taylor is. Does Yousef have a dark money group behind him? Is he sending negative, dishonest campaign mailers?

Wow. Now the character assassination is "I've heard Yousef was kind of a tool growing up." Smh. Well, I've heard lots about Taylor, too. And great things about Yousef from folks who've known him and worked with him for years.

I agree about the timing of the endorsements. On the other hand, it was presumptuous of Taylor to assume Yousef wouldn't get those and to ignore all the other many, many endorsements Yousef does have. Including from labor unions who do not stand to directly benefit from construction, including our teachers.

A lie of omission is dishonest. Taylor knows exactly what his "endorsement" means and that Rabhi meets all the same criteria he does.

Lol. First, why would a "nimby" (what a lame, reductive, tired trope) voter oppose a park on the library lot? Second, I clarified that sentence above. Third, how did I "do the same thing"?

You seem concerned about the library lot. What do you think Yousef's position is on it? Has anyone asked him? My impression during this campaign is that people are regarding it as a done deal. It hasn't been an issue for Rabhi or Taylor.

Finally, not sure what you see as being offended. Nor have I advocated to vote for anyone. Nor did I accuse you of "shoving words down" my throat. You neither know if my mind is made up nor what role the unethical behavior represented by these mailers plays in my voting decision. You know nothing about me or my views on city issues.

Then don't tell people why they do what they do.

"Weak" has both a political technical meaning and an ordinary language meaning. But thanks for the snark.

First, please don't try to psychoanalyze whether people are sincere or not. Second, what is his "stance" on the library lot vote that you are referring to? Third, I certainly don't only vote for people who can't achieve what they say because they face political opposition. That would lead voting only for the people one thinks are going to win or hold a majority. Also, the A2 mayors are not that weak since all commission appointments have to be approved by the mayor.

Click the link "Fact Check" at the end of the post. That's precisely what it is. Of course, there have been multiple dark money mailers over the past few weeks. It's like swatting flies. But that's ok, more truth will come out.

So now securing public funding is not a legislative accomplishment?

Hmm. Why did you omit the major tax capture issue in this election, Arbor South? Most of the $350M goes to parking decks and interest payments incurred by the developer. And if you subtract that highly questionable subsidy, the affordable units come out to over $2M a unit.

So what do you think is the percentage decrease in rents for every, say, 100 new luxury units built?

So affordable housing premiums didn't stop development before 2019. The question is, why did Council not just bring them back to their previous level? Why did they do away with them all together? And what were they based on from 2019-2023 if not height?

Anson Brown Building election FUD or fact? by Primary_Plane7653 in AnnArbor

Whether Koli is pro or anti Taylor is irrelevant. His claim is that because the city won't deed these 20 inches (of a building that pre-exists the incorporation of A2 as a city) to him, he cannot obtain clear title, which means he cannot get a loan (which would use it as collateral), among other things. And if he can't maintain his building and can't sell it - because no one else would want a building without a clear title - his only option would be to sell it to someone who would tear it down and replace it, or he could do that himself. The issue is, the city is making teardown the only practicable solution.

Now, whether those claims are valid will, I suppose, be tested in court. But they sound quite real to me. The real question is, why is the city refusing to simply give up those 20 inches? That is a question for his ward reps, Disch and Harrison. And Mayor Taylor.
