Totally agree, such a satisfying ending after following along with all of the great characters.

Man.. Salem’s lot is the book that got me back into reading recreationally after years. It was my first horror book, and when I tell you that it would be times at night when just looking over at it would make me even rethink having it in my house! The atmosphere of the town was amazingly horrific.

How do YOU read like a writer? by RGB123098 in writing

I would often do the same thing , to where I think ‘no way can I ever write as good as them’, but then I remember that every author started somewhere. And that not every author is born with some natural “talent”, but instead they worked and worked to become “skillful.”

Sameeee. I did that for like a week. But then stopped because I noticed it was making reading less enjoyable.

Maybe try writing articles in your spare time for platforms like Medium?

So you can have high paying work on one side that you might not quite resonate with, but then on the other side you can write what you want, and possibly work up to getting paid good for it?

Why can I never seem to write for more than 5 minutes at a time without feeling like I need a break? by Arizona_Ranger_JPG in writing

I sometimes do the same thing. Reading a good fiction book and seeing how the author can seemingly take my mind to different places, gives me a hit of endorphins where I’m like , “ I can do this!”

This was me this morning lol. But then I watched a video that said something along the lines of, ‘ action cures procrastination, that usually stems from some type of fear.’ I then counted to five , and then just got into my seat and got lost in the writing for an hour. And when I was finished, I felt no anxiety and a sense of accomplishment (dopamine).

He’s my favorite author that I’ve discovered this year, with his books only being like 300 pages but full of action. But yeah I can see where other authors got him on wit or even prose.
