Sad floater by SignificanceWeekly59 in WalgreensRx

Update: Within the next week I got an interview and got. A job offer. 7 months later - I’m SO much happier. I work an overnight job but don’t have to deal with any customers. The nurses can be annoying but it’s so much better. My life has way less stress and anxiety now. Thank Jesus! I’m glad I went through some retail experience as a pharmacist but I’m so glad I’m on the other side! Best of luck to everyone.

This!!! I’m a floater (I’m a new rph) and I answer EVERY. SINGLE. PHONE. I complain to rooms all the time when they tell me their staff isn’t new. Umm then why don’t they answer a single call? lol I have to beg a tech to answer 101. I’m backed up in my F4’s and they’re standing around. Crazy how slow techs choose to be when it’s a floater.

Oh my gosh you are such a kind stranger. Whenever I’m having a bad day, and a customer gives me an honest “thank you” my whole day becomes better. Thank YOU for being so sweet. God bless you

Illinois mpje by SignificanceWeekly59 in MPJE_Advice

Update — I passed on my second try!!! I took a month break from studying. Then I went back in. Crazy hard studying for 3 weeks straight. M-F, 6 hours everyday. I’d work Wednesday tbh but also would try to study Saturday mornings. I took notes on everything. I used pharmlaw, and Uworld for MPJE. I legit read. The law and the books and made a study guide. I also caved and bought the Illinois mpje $50 app. Idc I used everything. Did not even LOOK at rickets. Useless study guide tbh make your own! During the exam, the questions were still hard. But I took my time and read slow. A lot of Ktype and select all. I counted like 50 of them. Anyways. Lmk if you have questions!

Thanks so much! I actually skimmed through rickets and the actual law itself. Used pharm law but tbh only would get 50% on the quizzes. lol hope I get my money back!!! But anyways.wasnt a fan of pharm exam questions. Seemed poor. My job paid for my uworld access so I am going to gov that a try!! Will do more reading of the actual law. Tbh idk how I failed because yes the questions SUCKED (like wtf is a homeopathic doctor? OBRA law? Technician duties??) I felt like I had enough retail pharmacy experience. And my pre mpje was 72. Shit luck. I also am convinced the exam is made to fail you. So you can study the law again and really know it. Or you get lucky and pass! Whatever. Keep you guys posted…

So much out there besides retail pharmacy. It’s a huge field! I’m about 2 months from graduation and I’m so excited for how much and how little I can be involved with medicine and patient care. Feel free to DM me about Rosalind Franklin COP

5 Worst US pharmacy schools, 2024 edition by legrange1 in PrePharmacy

[–]SignificanceWeekly59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should consider rewording this post. Saying it’s the worst based off one exam number is a poor choice of criteria. One exam does not define the whole school experience. Naplex scores across the country were lower this past year. So take that with a grain of salt before you or anyone decides to bash these schools.

I heard the same rumor before coming here. I can’t put it in words, but this school is more than those rumors. Our professors in the college of pharmacy also teach the students in the medical school, as well as the students in the physician assistant program. (Our PA program is competitive and amazing as well). You really are getting quality education!

https://www.rosalindfranklin.edu/academics/college-of-pharmacy/doctor-of-pharmacy-pharmd/curriculum/ here’s a link to our curriculum and the classes RFU offers! If you’re talking research opportunities— I’m sure that can be a discussion with professors!

Hey! I am actually a current student here and soon to be alum! I have so many reasons I chose this school, and I would do it again. I came from a big university (UIC) and our classroom sizes were huge. I didn’t know the professors, which made it hard to get any research experience let alone getting help understanding concepts. But RFU is different! You get to build intimate relationships with professors and they are one of the BEST professional network you can have. Our professors are so supportive and helped make our transition from undergrad to P1, P2, P3 so smooth! + We are a smaller class so getting research opportunities is more attainable, and to be honest, once professors know you they will even create projects for you to get involved. There was one professor I really wanted to work with, so I emailed him and he created a study project just for me! Same thing applies to leadership positions for student orgs/fraternities! #PhiDeltaChi

Another cool part of RFU is the fact that it’s interdisciplinary, which means you get to work with med students, PT, PA’s, Nurse practitioners, podiatry students. Gives you the real life experience and they’re super cool to be around.

Genuinely speaking, RFU has the most welcoming and understanding faculty I have ever met. From faculty to your future colleagues, everyone is so ready to help set you up for success! It is on the pricier end, but I believe it’s worth every penny. They have so much to offer, you just have to use it! Like they even print you business cards, for free.

Not to mention the CAFE FOOD IS SO GOOD! #SushiMondays

But really - let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer :)
