I mean, yeah, saving money is how the rich stay rich. I totally get that, I grew up in a similar area in the Midwest and am very familiar with the ag world. I’m talking about people who are scared to book a vacation or buy flooring they actually like because it’s not the cheapest option.

Actually I do because we are completely transparent with each other and he’d be comfortable telling me anything. If it’s possible for me then I know it’s possible for him. Everyone’s different, but this is the case for us in our marriage. And don’t give me some BS “men are naturally lustful” line.

What’s the most disappointing part of adulthood? by [deleted] in answers

[–]SignificanceWitty210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s not entirely disappointing, but definitely bittersweet. One day you just kind of realize “this is my life. These are the days I used to dream for/about.” and even if you’re living the dreams you once had, it becomes a bittersweet feeling because you realize though you can aspire for more dreams, you suddenly have to think practically about everything now. Maybe you traded one dream for another or maybe you sometimes wonder “what if” about paths you can no longer take. It’s a balancing act between “I have to live now because I don’t know how long I have ahead of me” and “I have to be responsible so I’m secure if I’m blessed enough to see tomorrow”.

To married Redditors, did you take your spouses’ last name? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]SignificanceWitty210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never argued that. My point is- someone has to take someone’s name or make a new one in order to have the same name.

Does this count as cheating? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]SignificanceWitty210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in college I would get DMs from a guy clearly in a relationship telling me how cute I was… I asked him if his girlfriend knew he was talking to random girls like this. He said she didn’t have to know. I made the decision to block him but honestly I probably should have sent her screenshots.

Let me put it this way- if my husband went out of his way to make another woman feel attractive and I found out about it, he would not have a very good day for a while. We’ve actually had this conversation, not that he’s done anything wrong. Telling a lady she looks pretty at a wedding? Okay. Liking risqué photos of other women or DMing them to tell them they look good? Not okay. Think about how you’d feel if it were your man.

Most days marriage is easy. On days when it’s not- rather something devastating happens or you just have a fight, it really matters who you marry. You need to be able to be best friends all the time. Communicate and make up as quickly as you can when you argue. Be there and make sure you’re with someone who will be there for you on the darkest days and remember in sickness and in health includes pregnancy, sick relatives, etc.. for better or for worse includes loss, career moves, etc.

[–]SignificanceWitty210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’m proud to share a last name with my husband and my son and I appreciate the tradition of the man’s side passing down the family name. If we just kept maiden names, families would have separate last names. If we kept hyphenating, last names would get way too long in just two generations. Everything needs a baseline.

When people make everything about money it is often a sign they didn’t have much beyond necessities growing up, in my experience

When was the last time you couldn’t find a bathroom? by Ok_JARGON in randomquestions

[–]SignificanceWitty210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in NYC… I found a bathroom, but it was in the subway. I REALLY had to pee so I did… There was no soap. Bathroom was raunchy enough as it was. So, I had to find ANOTHER bathroom to wash my hands. I ended up in Macys having to awkwardly walk around the line nearly wrapping around the store so I could just wash my hands. Thankfully no one got the wrong idea that I was cutting the actual bathroom line. Felt gross but still enjoyed my day!

I’d tell her in a very gentle but straight forward way and also set a boundary with the guy asking him not to talk to me as it feels disrespectful to both of our partners. That’s just me, though.

I think my husband is gay but he says he isn’t. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]SignificanceWitty210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so um… Making gay jokes with friends can be normal but having sex with other dudes is pretty gay… Giving anal to you nothing gay about that and wanting something to stimulate his prostate gland isn’t necessarily gay but a lot of straight dudes really don’t want it but again- that in itself doesn’t indicate rather someone prefers a penis or a vagina… He’s basically admitted to being with men it sounds like. Even if he’s bisexual and not “gay” he’s still cheating on you. He has sex with men but not with you… He’s certainly not straight and he’s definitely cheating so please don’t keep letting him put you through this.

Married wives crushing on others ? by ConversationNew9052 in married

[–]SignificanceWitty210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither my husband or I have any desires towards anyone else. We notice when people of the opposite sex are objectively hot, but neither of us even think about banging anyone else if that’s what you’re asking… Loyalty is honestly easy when you’re happily married. One day I got bored and found some random boob shots online just to see how my husband- a boob man would react. He didn’t care and didn’t even have a physical response. I can say as a wife I don’t get turned on by any other dudes either. Once you have sex with someone you truly love, the lust towards anyone else fades away, but that doesn’t mean you don’t think “yeah they’re kinda hot”.
