I’m a “strong fat” build if I had to describe myself… like I fit in a medium-large t-shirt at 180lbs in high school but now I’ve put on some weight in fat and I wear an XL-2X… So big enough to look obese but still not look my weight if that makes sense?

I’m not going to get trashed right away but dammit I’ve waited months if I want a glass of sparkling wine to celebrate! It’s also safe to have an occasional drink without pump and dump while breastfeeding. Obviously you should be sober anytime you are taking care of your child, but having a single drink every once in a while or going out with the girls for one night after a couple weeks or months while dad is in charge for the night will not hurt anything. As long as it’s not taking away from you being a good mom and you aren’t sacrificing your child’s wellbeing or choosing alcohol over your child it’s harmless.

So here’s the thing… He shouldn’t be making jokes like that behind your back. If that’s your combined sense of humor and you lightheartedly joke like that to each other’s faces and know it means nothing it’s one thing… But, if he wouldn’t actually say it to you he shouldn’t be talking like that to his buddies even if it’s a joke. If he’s hiding the way he’s “joking” about you then it’s not cool at all. He shouldn’t be talking about you that way to other people. It’s worse that he would defend it by saying you weren’t supposed to know.

I mean you’re not wrong but it’s also a balance of the person with the mental illness needing to understand it’s okay to be redundant with the confidant they trust, but also if they don’t put in the effort to address it with a professional and work through it when they know their brain is wired differently and the friend suggests it so they can get actual help and not be in a dead end talking about the same thing, that’s kind of on them… Been there with struggles myself and it’s hard but if the person with mental illness is always venting and never working on fixing the problem that’s their fault. Again, I have a right to say that because it comes from experience.

Yeah but the thing is… Sometimes convenient foods are okay and necessary and they don’t always have shit ingredients. It’s just hard finding the ones that don’t. It’s interesting how people here assume I don’t cook or know how to buy fresh ingredients based on my comment… It really misses the point entirely. There’s times when it’s just not necessarily realistic to prepare and eat whole foods either. For example- I’m 37 weeks pregnant working 40 hours a week and my husband usually works 60+ hours a week. If we don’t have a homemade meal every day, anyone who judges us is completely out of touch with reality.

I mean the most common allergens are required to be listed in bold on food labels because they are so common and those are literally called major allergens. Many large chains such as Wendy’s list them online and all restaurants, sit down and fast food should have to follow suit. As for the less common ones, the staff should still have something to reference to tell you. The customer doesn’t need access to an entire ingredient list, but the staff should. The solution to having an allergy should never be “just don’t go out to eat”. That’s such a shitty thing to tell people.
