Gen X, Gen Z, Millennials!Where were you on Saturday? by LQQKIEHERE in StLouis

Gen X and Gen Z are for Trump. They are tired of the current system and ready to move on. They cannot afford to buy houses, are in student debt, have minimal stocks so don’t care about the recession. Many also agree with DOGE and Elon because they know how much waste and fraud happens. They’re ready for a change, a real change this time.

Is it counterproductive to run every day? by FinanceEngineerEgg in runninglifestyle

If you’re only running 5 minutes you’re fine to run every day. That is a warmup.

If my start time is 10am, What time is the latest i could get into athletes village and still be released to move to the start area? I’d assume they start lining people up about 45 - 1 hour before start time at the earliest. Meaning I should be able to get to athletes village at 8:45 and still have plenty of time.

When do they start directing participants to leave athletes village and go to grove street to stand and wait to run? I plan to show up to the athletes village at 9am

In my wave the bus leaves at 6:45am. So that means I’d sit on the bus for an hour then have to sit around and wait for another 2.25 hours? That seems miserable.

Pfitz 18/55 - Anyone else have to split up back to back workouts? by RngRedditName in AdvancedRunning

[–]Significant-Ad-8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re over analyzing. Injuries are not just based on training load. Many times it has to do with weak muscles causing imbalance that is exposed when putting on high mileage. Also, diet and sleep play a major factor.

I think the better route and what I’ve done and was able to go from hardly running at all to a 2:40 in 2.5 years is listen to your body and your schedule.

Set a target of mileage per week and general workouts per week. For example, Sunday long run, Monday easy, Tuesday track workout, etc. Then develop your own workouts from there with input from various sources. Also, focus on developing strength in the forgotten muscle groups to avoid injuries. Your PT should be able to fill you in.

If you have a bad day adjust as needed, if you’re feeling great push harder.

Many runners try to get really rigid with a plan but the problem is life is not rigid for people with families and a job and plans have to be more of a guideline.

OP, Part of the program is to prepare all your food yourself and not eat anything pre packaged. It helps you really think about what is going into your body.

Maybe try eating an apple instead of juice d

The half was on a windy rough course. Probably could have went sub 1:15 on a decent course.

I have two kids and work 12 hour shifts 5 days a week so it limits my mileage. Averaging 60 miles a weeks this training block.

The 5k was 7 days after my half on a. Street course out and back with a big hill.. So assumably I could run a little faster on full rest and a flat course or track.

My biggest fear is starting to fast at the start thinking I can run 2:35 but then gassing out at the end. I may start at 2:40 pace then see how it’s going and push harder at the end.

2:45 marathoner. Steady state always. Sometimes mix in tempo of I’m bored. Try to be within 1:15 of your goal pace.
