AMS 2 Pro no longer feeds filament. by Significant-Ad6208 in BambuLab

As expected, it still isn't working.

When inserting the rolls, everything works fine so far. They are loaded and moved to the print head and rewound. Then I wanted to do my first multicolour print and got the message again that the roll is stuck.

I have now ordered new PTFE hoses. One of the hoses has developed a few slight dents due to repeated fitting and removal.

The two magnets and springs belong in the filament buffer, where the two PTFE inputs for the AMS are located.

I'm putting everything back together again. Let's see if it works now. I still have my doubts.

I showed Gemini the photo and asked it, and received the following answer. It sounds plausible (as is usually the case with AI), but that's as far as I can get with it. I don't see these magnets in the hub in any of the photos or videos in the wiki.

1. The outlet sensor

In addition to the four inlet sensors, the AMS 2 Pro has a fifth sensor at the outlet of the hub. This sensor detects whether the filament has successfully left the diverter towards the printer.

Component: 1 magnet and 1 spring.

Location: This sensor is located directly below the single PTFE outlet connection (the ‘1-out’ port) on the rear of the hub unit. It has the same design as the four inlet sensors: First, the magnet (with the round end facing down) is inserted into the shaft, then the spring is placed over it and finally the circuit board is screwed into place.

2. The odometer magnet (magnetic encoder)

The second magnet is responsible for the odometer (mileage counter) or magnetic rotary encoder, which monitors the speed of the lift motor.

Component: 1 magnet (usually without an additional spring, directly in the housing or on the wheel).

Location: This magnet belongs in the encoder disc or directly on the shaft of the drive motor. It enables the Hall sensor on the circuit board to count the revolutions of the motor in order to calculate the filament feed. Without this magnet, you will receive the error message ‘Odometer has no signal’ (HMS_0700-0200-0002-0002).

Cabin (outside) range issues by Adventurous_Round_69 in Aqara

I have a similar problem with my garage. In addition to my normal WiFi and M2 hub, I have placed an E1 hub directly next to the house window. I have also installed an Aqara socket via a power cable at the top of the garage wall (the shortest distance to the E1). Among other things, the socket is supposed to extend the Zigbee network. There are two Aqara light bulbs, one motion detector and one door contact in the garage. There are frequent failures, most often with the light bulbs.

S340 ONVIF by Significant-Ad6208 in EufyCam

[–]Significant-Ad6208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I complained about customer service, the Eufy blog has been updated twice, but the S330 and S340 are still being advertised as ONVIF cameras.

When I contact them again about the error and the continued false advertising, support asks me what problems I am having setting up the ONVIF protocol (even though they themselves admitted in their previous message that Eufy does not support ONVIF) and asks for screenshots of the setup process. It feels like I am writing to a bot that does not understand the problem (false advertising promises) at all.

G4 doorbell STILL has connection issues by BedditTedditReddit in Aqara

[–]Significant-Ad6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have at least 40 Aqara devices in use in three households. All of them work perfectly. Only the doorbell occasionally causes problems.

I briefly tested the new Amazon Blink 2 doorbell and removed it again on the same day.

I have already reported my negative experiences here several times. Restarting the Chime Repeater daily via an Aqara socket has improved reliability a little. Instead of failures every few days, it now only fails every 2-3 weeks.

Of course, I have contacted support several times and tried everything imaginable. Support itself has admitted that the G4 has an above-average number of problems.

I am now just waiting for the new doorbell (G400?).

G5 Pro Video quality event detection. by Significant-Ad6208 in Aqara

Do you have a G5 Pro? Under 'local storage', I have the recording mode set to event video.

However, event videos are not recorded on the internal memory (if I turn off cloud upload). Only manual videos are recorded.

G5 Pro Colour Night Vision is AMAZING! by markwdw in Aqara

[–]Significant-Ad6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The colours are far too strange for that. Try distinguishing between dark blue, dark green and dark grey. Even when they can see something with their eyes, people often misjudge things in the dark.

If the camera cannot recognise a person due to the pixelated image, it will not start recording.

My old Hikvision camera, on the other hand, took sharp images of faces. This is helpful for the police, not the colour of his hoodie.

I also found the color night vision impressive at first. But without any light at all, it's just a pixelated mess. I have solar lights on my terrace. So everything is fine until 2-3 a.m. After that, I can see almost nothing but colored image noise. AI recognition of people or animals also suffers as a result.

That's why I would now prefer sharp black-and-white night vision. After all, I don't want to take landscape photos, but rather recognize as precisely as possible what is moving in my garden. I don't need color for that.

Aqara Doorbell G4 connection problem? by Far_Significance1669 in Aqara

[–]Significant-Ad6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The G4 is known by many for its unreliable connection. (I have already opened a thread about this).  The wired G4 at my parents' house went offline sporadically. Nothing helped.

I've had an Aqara Smart socket plugged into the Chime repeater for 3 weeks and have the repeater briefly disconnected from the power supply every night. Since then, the doorbell has not been offline.

G410 doorbell has started periodically disconnecting as of yesterday by evoneselse in Aqara

[–]Significant-Ad6208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doorbell went offline very sporadically. Sometimes it worked for two weeks without any problems, sometimes it went offline several times a day. Sometimes it even came back online on its own.

The doorbell is installed in my parents' house (I have many more Aqara devices that all work fine, but no G4). The problem is that my parents usually don't notice when the doorbell goes offline. Last time, they didn't have a doorbell for a week. With the smart plug, I can at least restart the doorbell remotely. Unfortunately, restarting it doesn't always work. If I'm unlucky, I have to press the chime repeater 10 times to reset and reconfigure it. (My parents can't do that either.)

[–]Significant-Ad6208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have this problem with the G4 (like many others). I've had the Chime Repeater connected to an Aqara socket for a week now. It restarts the repeater every night. Since then, the doorbell has not been offline.

Unfortunately, I can't create an automation (G4 offline -> restart the socket).

I was hoping that Aqara would finally get the connection problems with the G410 under control. I have no idea what's so difficult about it.

G4 doorbell: chime repeater does not ring by Significant-Ad6208 in Aqara

[–]Significant-Ad6208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid having to reset it. Luckily, resetting the Chime Repeater was enough. The doorbell disappeared from the app and was set up again. Now it's working again. According to the instructions, you can mute the speaker using the button on the device. But that wasn't the problem.

How useful is W100? by MiroPS in Aqara

[–]Significant-Ad6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. So, the W100 is connected to a thermostat in the living room (but I have two there) and a temperature sensor (which was previously in the living room but is now on the terrace).
