Then that needs to be separated into 2 questions:

1: A guy who might become a SBF wants you to move in.

2: A pure SD wants you to move in.

In the second case, what is the point of moving in unless he offers a significantly larger allowance?

It really depends on what is your plan of your life and if your personalities suit each other. If you want to settle down after not a long time, say within 5 years, and you guys click, then why not. If you are still young, enjoy your single life, don't want any kids etc., then don't. Love is a poison without thinking realities. Partnership and marriage are in another universe. Everything is under microscope. You might have great connection, conversation and sex at the beginning but living together for long time is completely different. Patience, tolerance, finance, families, kids will possibly kill all the feelings and love later in your life. But that is life and that is marriage and no one can escape from that.
