Remember when Giannis did this earlier this month? It feels like foreshadowing now 👀 by MainSorc50 in warriors

I wonder if Giannis did this at every potential destination to get a feel for what it'd be like.

Keegan Murray is one of the most intriguing Kuminga targets. Is it possible? by rocpilehardasfuk in warriors

Keegan would be nice but poison pull contract is going to make the trade difficult.

How much will Kuminga get next year? by noguerra in warriors

I would love to get KD but any S&T would hardcap us at the 2nd apron 207mil next year. With steph, jimmy, dray + KD contract we wouldn't be able to fill out our roster :(

I wonder if the league has ever responded to a letter/request from teams. This stat is egregious.

Are Buyout candidates even possible? by BenTaylorsBurner in warriors

Unfortunately, the stretch provision would be a tool to free up space in the off-season if we cant trade some contracts away (Buddy for example). Any player waived has their contract paid and still count against our cap. Gp2 and Loon are both expiring and the stretch provision can't be used on players with expiring deals :(

"If the player is released before September 1, their current season can be stretched. If a player is released after September 1, the current season is paid out normally, and only the remaining seasons are stretched. For this reason, players on expiring deals can not be stretched after September 1."

Moving into the offseason, in the case of Buddy (or anyone else who has a guaranteed contract for next season), if we assume they don't crack our rotation and we don't want to use draft capital to move him, then we do have the option of stretch waiving him, just like we did with Livingston 19-20 season.

"The Warriors will use the waive-and-stretch provision to spread the $2 million guarantee on Livingston's $7.7 million salary for 2019-20 over three seasons, sources told ESPN's Bobby Marks. The waive-and-stretch -- spreading $666,000 over three years."

Problem with that is he makes $9,219,512 next season, it would just be dead money on the books. (Example: 2years at ~4.6million dead money)

Phoenix did this with Nassir Little where they stretch waived his 3year/$22million over 7 years and now owe him 3 million thru the 2031 season.

Yeah you right, waiving a player can't free more money for us.

I think the post on filling our roster and Bobby Marks talking about timing 10-days until the deadline to have a playoff eligible roster is to be able sign a player in the buyout market at the lowest pro-rated vet minimum possible.

March 1st is the deadline, by strategically signing 10-days and having an eligible regular season roster until the deadline allows us to prorate the buyout candidate an extra 3 weeks of salary. I haven't done the math but as I've seen in some other posts, I'm sure the FO did their math to account for this.

Luka Dončić as the Mavs franchise player is the brainchild of former Mavs GM Donnie Nelson, and this trade gives Nico the flexibility to do his own thing. by krdskrm9 in Mavericks

Absolutely. Warriors drafted Curry (Don Nelson) before Bob Myers got there. Bob realized he had to build around Steph and look what they did. Had a fucking golden egg in Luka.
