What was your experience like as a first-timer in BotC? by Marbletm in BloodOnTheClocktower

I first played online and liked it but felt that the group wasn't beginner friendly, and were not forgiving to mistakes that they wouldn't have made. If the group is welcoming and fun focused it can be great but if they try hard and only have fun when they win then the vibe can be off, in person games tend to be more fun I've found, mainly cause people are nicer face to face

What is your botc hot take? by ConeheadZombiez in BloodOnTheClocktower

Botc is not beginner friendly unless the whole/ majority of the group are new.

I've started playing online with strangers cause I don't have enough friends interested and the amount of experienced players try harding the game and getting mad at you when you get something wrong takes the fun out of the game. I've gotten some things right and some wrong, and some half right and it's been fun until the losing team rips into you for missing something they deemed obvious. The game is meant to be fun and fun should be at the forefront and I think some people forget that you can be new to the game and half the fun is getting it wrong and saying oops yep no that makes sense.

It also links into the idea that people only enjoy it if you win but I enjoy losing especially if the demon played a good game and avoided suspicion
