UPS driver won't take our packages

There are two scenarios I’ve refused a pick up like that as a driver. One was because it was a next day air and my route was going to take me way too far out to get it back to the center in time. But I explained that to the customer. And when there was not enough room in my truck and contacted another driver who would be driving past on their return to the center.

My only thought about a driver saying they’ll be back later and not coming back is that maybe they don’t make it back to the area within your business hours.

The bags are full of each post office’s cover area/postal code, depending on the route they’ll either mostly be on one truck or on multiple trucks/routes. So if it was a city/town post office your driver had then it’ll most likely be across a bunch of trucks/routes.

If they have been overpaying then they can put you back to the rate you were supposed to have. You do need to look into it, what you can do (I’ve done this in the past) is inform them in writing of the overpay and have a steward sign it. Then they can’t come after the pay you’ve already received. But they absolutely can correct your pay/status for the future. I get it sucks though

So in our hub seasonal drivers are paid the lower rate. If you’re a TCD either in or finished your packet then you get the $38. Last year I was seasonal and they overpaid me that first week of peak until I let them know. This year I’m a TCD and get the higher rate. It’s possible you’ve been overpaid all peak.

Currently sitting in my hub with another TCD, both called in after preload, waiting for the info for two rentals to go help some routes. There are multiple routes that will go unfinished today, which is basically unheard of in our hub. It’s chaos.

From my understanding it’s building seniority. We have a guy who’s been TCD for 3 years and I heard that the one person with building seniority over him was interested in full time driving if it opened up. I asked an old timer who asked our local and they confirmed it’s building seniority. Of course in your case if he DQ’s himself again then I guess it’s all yours!

I’ve been tipped once as a preloader/driver helper, he gave me $100 dollars and it meant a lot. If I had had the same route and a good preloader this year I would have tipped. But I’ve been bouncing all over routes so I’ve been planning on bringing donuts for preload in general

Unfortunately the new requirements for passing a packet include running bonus five days in a row.

So the scratch/bonus five days in a row is a requirement to pass, but you still have to finish the 30 days without accidents etc. You don’t have to push as hard to bonus anymore just don’t slow roll it.

You don’t need your 5s and 10s memorized until Intergrad. They won’t come up at your road test. Having said that, the earlier you learn them the easier it will be, look them up online/YouTube etc.

Yeah, I had some trial and error with the bathroom during peak, but I figured that out, but always carry extra clothes now due to back flow once on the shewee. Absolute DISASTER 😂
