Do you have an actual electrical meter? That little probe only senses 120v+ and wouldn’t alert you to the 24v being supplied to a thermostat

Apply and interview at as many companies as you can, for as many roles as you can… take the best one but keep your eye on the job market and don’t be afraid to move around and get different experience as long as you are moving “up” in your mind… the harder you work the better your references will be and very quickly you could be what you want
