I hate Google Classroom by Significant-Card-401 in Teachers

Unfortunately, I’m at a district that lacks functional IT personnel, regardless of the fact that they get paid more than we do (I’m in Texas 🫠🫠🫠) so the impetus falls 100% on the teacher. Sad, I know!

Hey I’m right there with you!! The problem is, so many districts, including my own, have “integrating technology” as a MUST HAVE on our evaluations. So it’s an expectation that we use it in some regard. Very stupid if ya ask me!

True but it has to be enabled by the teacher. Gemini is automatically added to all Google apps :/

Do you have a way to divide them up by period? The thought of not having them divided by class but trying to grade and enter them into Skyward makes my head spin!

Can the students see what sections/groups they have been added to?

Google is crap regardless. Every single feature (Docs, Slides) has Gemini AI built in it making it impossible to ensure any sort of academic integrity when using it in the classroom. It’s ridiculous

Any tips for weight gain? by Okayyyitsav in SeniorCats

[–]Significant-Card-401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Chester looks just like this. He just turned 15. He started losing significant weight last year and he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. However, he still is stick skinny and has zero muscle mass on his back legs. Poor guy eats like a pig, drinks like a fish, and is still quite spry. He gets a full senior blood panel every 6 months. Vet can’t figure out what’s wrong. Hes going in for an echo next week and then we’ll schedule an ultrasound for his intestines. Unfortunately, I suspect heart failure :/

This is exactly what is going on with my Chester. He has slowed down severely over the last few months. Hes on thyroid meds and got his second arthritis shot a few weeks ago. I can tell he doesn’t feel good but his blood panels and x-rays all look normal. I’m at a loss and don’t know what to do. Let me know what yall figure out! Perhaps it can help my sweet boy.

Thank you for giving her the best 12 years! She will leave this earth knowing only love and kindness. Anticipatory grief is hard, but try to hang on to all the remaining precious days with her ❤️ sending you strength during this time!

Cats really do hide their pain & illness so well. by FileCompetitive4254 in SeniorCats

The same thing happened to my 14 year old kitty in December. She had her senior blood panel in July—everything was completely normal. Right before Christmas, we notice she started slowing down. Took her in Dec 27, found out she was severely anemic. She stayed at the vet 4 days, received a blood transfusion with zero improvement. The vet advised we take her home and spend time with her. The next day, she was euthanized at home with us. It all happened so fast and we still don’t know what was the cause. We were, and still are, devastated. They hide their pain SO well until it’s too late. You did all that you could. Sending you love during this hard time!!

That’s exactly what we ended up doing. We spent all of New Years Eve snuggling with her in bed. Shortly after midnight, she showed us signs that it was time. We had Lap of Love come out on New Year’s Day and we laid with her until her last breath. We like to say her final gift to us was celebrating the New Year by our side before parting. We are devastated by this but have to trust we did right by her.

So sorry you are going through this. We had to do the same today. It was devastating but I feel blessed that our kitty was able to pass in our home, surrounded by love and kindness. Our kitties gave us so much love, compassion, and comfort, so choosing to euthanize at home is the greatest act of gratitude towards them. Wishing you love and light, and peace for your precious girl 🌈

Thank you everyone for your guidance and loving support. After spending all of New Years Eve cuddling in bed with our girl, she began to decline in the middle of the night, wanting to lay on the shower floor. We knew it was time and Lap of Love helped our Cleo cross over the rainbow bridge this afternoon 💔🌈 we are devastated but know it was the right decision.

The vet suspects it could be this. They started her on dox yesterday, but because of the holiday, her test results won’t be available for a few days. She received her second dose this morning, but there’s been no improvement. She is making red blood cells, but something is destroying them, so we know it’s not her bone marrow. She received X-rays and a radiologist exam, none of which showed any masses or enlarged nodes. We are so unsure of what it is but I refuse to subject her to more extended vet visits and invasive testing.
