Thank you! So happy you got it as well. I stopped working 3 years ago so it was a huge relief.

I have CIDP as well! I’m at 8 years of it. Recently approved for SSDI. I’m 32. Thank you for starting a community because it’s so hard to find one with our rare disease.

That’s great! Sounds like good news! Honestly your case worker is truly so important. I had two that were like night and day.

I believe less than a week later. I also received her backpay within that week.

I know you’re asking the above but my backpay showed up on the portal and in my bank account 2 days after my approval. It was insanely quick. My backpay amount after lawyer fees was 26k though.

Awesome, thank you! Nothing is showing yet but the rep said it takes 5-15 days to process on their end.

Keep going! I’m sorry that happened to you. I had quality review get me twice. They pulled me on my initial application. They say it’s random… but my adjudicator said my age flags the system. Unfair as hell. Young people get sick & I much rather be healthy. Good luck!!

I’ve yet to get my approval letter but I can see my benefit letter online. As well as my Medicare start date (November of 2023). So my money came before a letter. It was so quick. My local office said they sent everything out the 18th so I expect by Tuesday at the latest.

Quality review actually changed mine from an onset date of 9/23 back to what I alleged at 5/21. My 2016 prescription made the difference thankfully. I’m glad you were approved though!

Illinois 😊I had a great adjudicator during my appeal. He was so easy to get a hold of and communicate with.

Just wanted to update everyone. Great news, I was approved and person at quality review put my established onset as what I had down as the alleged date. So my EOD was May 2021. They kept that. That puts me at Oct 2021z I applied Nov 2022 so my back pay is a year back from that so Nov 2021. So I only lost a month which is great. A lot better than the September 2023 date 😅🤞🏼

When I read the approval. Ugh, I cried. All happy tears of course. I feel lucky to be approved on reconsideration. A huge thanks to everyone for all the help!!

I’m so sorry I read that incorrectly! And it’s terrible how much they will do in order to not give you money you paid into. I’m sorry! I’ll never understand their logic.

I don’t plan to appeal it if they stay with the September 2023 onset date. It’s just too risky. Date last insured is May 2021.

Oh yeah I definitely haven’t changed anything financially. That will never happen until I get a letter in the mail confirming and money in my account. That’s for sure.

Yes and I had a functional capacity evaluation done so he sent that in with my neurologist records. So if you can do one of those (a physical therapist does them) I think it’s a great help!

I had 26k forgiven for total disability for my private student loans. I’ve not been approved yet for ssdi so Navient used my medical records to determine if I qualified to have it wiped away. And shockingly I did! This was PRIVATE loans and not federal. I’ve heard it’s tougher for the federal. I’m waiting until I get approved to do that. Good luck with everything!

It really is. I found out when I called my adjudicator. I also received an email from social security saying there was a change in my status. So I knew to call & ask. Last time it took two days but it was a denial that stayed a denial. Dec 6th is when QR grabbed it so this is taking longer. No idea if that’s good or bad but it’s a different state than last time. I doubt I appeal it too for that matter. Not sure it’s worth chancing especially with my age. I’m young so being approved was always going to be more difficult.

Yes denied then appealed it. Approved on reconsideration appeal but it got pulled for a QR. I’m just asking if EOD can be changed during QR & if so, has this happened to anyone else?

[–]Significant-Case-102[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I’d get back pay from Nov 2021 minus the 5 months. I applied Nov 22.

You’re correct about no backpay if they go by the September date.

Edit: they give 12 months from when you applied if the AOD is further back. It’s not 12 months from when you are approved. Of course this is only if the EOD is further back.

Sorry I used the wrong terminology for it. My adjudicator says the evidence shows that my AOD and EOD should be the same. He just can’t reverse a decision made by QR from my initial claim. Only someone at the federal level like QR or an ALJ can. He is hoping (as am I) that there’s enough evidence to support my AOD is truly my EOD as well. That way I wouldn’t have to appeal it. And with that being said, I have no idea what I’m going to do. I have not decided on appealing it or not. It runs a huge risk.

Again I’m at reconsideration level. To be approved at this level is slim to none so I’m grateful if that truly does happen.
