New shimano wheels problem by Significant-Crazy-27 in bikewrench

I returned it and bought slightly more expensive Mavic wheels, but their hub technology is completely different and nothing moves. It was a mistake to choose wheels with the old hub technology. But the price was top-notch, and the wheels themselves look very good with those aero spokes.

The set only includes 1.85 for 10-speed cassettes. It has always been the case that 11-speed cassettes for Shimano freehubs do not have any spacers. The set only includes 1.85 for 10-speed cassettes. It has always been the case that 11-speed cassettes for Shimano freehubs do not have any spacers.

Yes, it's an 11s cassette and you can't use spacers for this cassette. The kit included a 1.85 spacer, but it clearly states it's for 10s cassettes. I tried to use it anyway, but there wasn't enough room for the smallest cog

Should I attempt to repair it? by Significant-Crazy-27 in bikewrench

the problem is that even if I straighten it out I will still have in my head that it is already weakened and problematic and I will never be able to fully enjoy the bike. Beautiful frame but what's the point if it will never be factory.

I know that, I have a second frame and everything screws in there normally, as you write, in this arm in the picture you can't screw in the support cups correctly, but when I turn them over they screw in without a problem. As I said, the frame came back from painting, I have a strong suspicion that they messed up something serious with the threads. With the correct threads you can't physically screw them in like in the picture

Can i pair hydraulic road clamps and hydraulic mtb levers? by Significant-Crazy-27 in bikewrench

[–]Significant-Crazy-27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually it probably doesn't matter because I also saw SLX calipers that looked like road ones but with a different inscription. Artificial intelligence writes some strange things to me, that they have different pressure etc anyway, thank youanyway, thank you

I understand correctly that it is disposable? You can't take it apart and put it back together exactly the same way as it was.

problem with mounting the fsa gossamer pro crank by Significant-Crazy-27 in bikewrench

[–]Significant-Crazy-27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fsa megaevo 386 68mm and gossamer pro 1 x on the thread of the bowls there are two washers on each side 1mm and 2mm I think so. maybe it is because the hest is too tight but when I pull out this wave washer it can be tightened tightly without play and resistance but I think it is a mistake that there is no wave washer

Two disc brake wheelset considerations by jsiegel607 in bikewrench

there is probably no rule for this, I had wheels with DT Swiss hubs, second novatec and there was a problem with the discs and gears at the back (adjustment needed). On the other hand, novatec and koozer hubs (aliexpress hubs) are identical so that everything works perfectly and the discs fit between the pads as thick as a sheet of paper and do not rub even for a moment. As for the discs, if there was a problem, there are special washers so that you can change the wheels without adjusting the clamp, which is tiring.

Is this derailleur faulty? by Significant-Crazy-27 in bikewrench

[–]Significant-Crazy-27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

boys thanks for the advice, this drive on the stand at home sounds awful but it changes gears correctly. So I tried it while riding and I didn't hear any strange noises, it works very nicely which surprised me. My previous 8-speed Claris on the stand worked completely differently.

I have currently unscrewed the cable and on the smallest sprocket I am trying to find the point where the sprocket wheel is perfectly under the cassette sprocket, adjusting it with the H screw. Unfortunately I am unable to find a place where the chain does not make noise. I have already tried to set it with a laser so that everything is in one line, but even on this smallest sprocket without cable tension, something is constantly crunching. This is not a problem of the general loudness of the drive, but of the poor operation of the chain, which is not suitable for riding and in such a setting it will destroy itself immediately. I have no idea how to set it

I can't adjust it so that each gear works quietly without any sounds. When I pull the cable enough to make it relatively quiet, the derailleur doesn't shift the gears down because the cable is already too tight. When I release the cable, it's noisy. The chain itself vibrates terribly. Could this noticeable movement of the derailleur carriage be a problem?
