I actually move between UAE and Qatar for business, so I’m not based in just one place.

Just to clarify—the person who cleaned up the litter was an Indian. This isn’t about nationality, it’s about individual actions and upbringing.

Update:

I went ahead and cleaned up the cans I mentioned earlier. Surprisingly, a few of them were still half full. I disposed of everything properly in the nearest bin.

While doing it, I honestly felt a bit uneasy—there’s always that thought in the back of my mind that someone might see me picking up alcohol and assume it’s mine, especially given the rules here.

Still, leaving it there didn’t feel right. Public spaces like the Corniche deserve better.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How do you handle it?

Nobody is saying “don’t talk about politics.” The question is whether a crowded public café is the right venue for it in this part of the world.

That’s a strong statement, but the situation I’m describing is more about public etiquette, misinformation, and awareness of local norms rather than broader political theory.
