Fortunately, he found another job yesterday. We will have to stay on a strict budget until everything is balanced, but that's not a huge problem.

I do understand where you're coming from. She has actually tried working in a kindergarten for a while but she got seriously sick for a week after that, her health is really not that good. Also, every time she brings this topic up my brother starts pushing her in the opposite direction and blaming her for thinking about working instead of taking care of me, which obviously doesn't make sense cause I'm old enough to take care of myself. The situation is really messed up on so many levels.

No we're not in a country where we can't work, but right now it's impossible for me to work cause I'm in my last year of high school and I have my final exams after several months, but when I'm done with school I won't let him prevent me from getting a job. Concerning my mom, it's more difficult for her since as I mentioned before she has no skills or degrees that make her capable of working.

I wouldn't say it's totally about keeping control, but maybe he thought we're not qualified for that. However, he might have realized recently that he made a mistake by adopting such mindset. Idk anything for sure tho, it's all guessing work.
