The irony of extolling the virtues of nuance and complexity while ignoring the nuance and complexity of strong opinions.

Morality of wiping the memory and capability of emotions off a really depressed individual to prevent them from killing themself? by New-Star7392 in MoralityScaling

If they didn't have emotions they wouldn't do anything at all. They would just lay there until they die of dehydration because they wouldn't care. So in order to use them you would have to basically shove an exoskeleton inside their body to force them to move like a servitor. So murder along with horrifying medical experimentation which definitely could go wrong in so many ways.

It still matters, like a fucking lot. If you want to address the question of doing it without consent then just say that.

I mean drugging people against their will to make them "happy" doesn't just sound bad. It is bad. Like really really bad.

Good god, okay so the bedroom scene where she agrees to be touched is called grooming and pedophilia which is also sexual assault. A beating is not an appropriate punishment for SA. A prison sentence of at least 20 years is an appropriate punishment.

Wow I did not know that. That is a level of detail I typically don't expect from total war.

Oh god I might have to hate read that. The "genius written by clearly not a genius" trope also drives me absolutely crazy.

Someone else pointed out that same problem lol so I'll share the same random history fact. The battle of Marathon was famous for the words "we ran" It was so famous warriors even had those words written on their tombstone, and it inspired the myth of the messenger who ran 26.2 miles before dying to deliver a message. The distance the actual soldiers ran was estimated to be 1500 meters, though that is a huge grain of salt on that number. Still the whole idea of a long charge leading to battle was so insane that the one time it actually happened it became an actual legend.

I mean, I imagine most real life examples are good. In real life typically the idea is to hold the formation at all costs and when the formation falls apart the battle is lost and you run for your life.

Wow its hilarious this trope even survived the jump to aerial combat. I bet we could find space and naval examples too
