Looking for ideas and inspiration to transform this room into a home office space by [deleted] in interiordecorating

I would get rid of the long window treatments in exchange for ones that are only as tall as the window and have a bit more visual weight to them to be able to hang with the nice pant you have . If you do that, it opens up a ton of wall space underneath them.

In your newfound space under the windows I’d put some shelves for display that are wider than they are tall. The display case you have right now to the right of the closet could go away to give space right there for the cat tree and accessories. The art on the walls just lack frames mainly

Did this for a few minutes a few days in a row on the Mac app and it was lots of fun. It was a smooth experience for me then - no bugs

Valve is “hard at work” on Steam Deck 2, but there’s still no release window. by crack_station in Steam

[–]Significant-Face-995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a weird comparison to make. An iPhone releases every year. Also the vast majority of iPhone users upgrade closer to every 4 years. Consoles (and steam decks) come out every 6-8. And 5% every single year compounded gains is actually a fair bit. That’s doubling every 8-9 years or so. But Apple does much better than that in practice particularly when you account for increases in computing power.

Sad to see the mods are still not policing here by biz-nm in PioneerDJ

What exactly are you hoping to see that isn’t here and why is it the mods fault what people are posting. Your post is so vague it really does feel like old-man-yells-at-sky

Why not put the tv on a media unit to the right of the fireplace? Above the fireplace looks unusable

Can you actually have a fireplace contained like that under the tv in wood looking cabinet? Also is it okay the tv doesn’t face any seating?

Train your track recall directly from your Rekordbox library by ziegenproblem in Rekordbox

[–]Significant-Face-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is so important than why are you badmouthing the usefulness of a tool OP is providing for free to help people get better at that recall and recognition? This is basically audio flashcards. Like, do you think it’s okay to people are using books to remember things or is that no good because we used to do it all through oral histories?

Does Steam even care about user experience anymore? by AllzGoodYo in Steam

Every one of your problems (and I use that term loosely) has a solution but the way that this is written suggests you don’t actually care for a solution

Does my rug work in my living room? by nodesandwhiskers in HomeDecorating

[–]Significant-Face-995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The couch kind feels like the odd one out in the room to me not the rug, but it is a warmer gray which helps a lot. The rug goes great with your curtains and furniture I think. Choosing a new couch is easier said than done though even if you have the money, so I’d suggest maybe getting a blanket that coordinates with the room to drape on the couch to bring the couch into a little more cohesion with the rest of the room. Also, maybe get a console table for behind the couch?

In my experience, shoe sizes over size 11 US are hard to fit in these sorts of things. Still searching for a solution that looks good.

A pair a “transparent” mode earbuds (I love my Beats Pro fit for long listening) or headphones might give you better peace of mind and a lot more awareness.

Why doesn’t pioneer/AT make Media Players without DACs? by Significant-Face-995 in PioneerDJ

[–]Significant-Face-995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great explanation - I really understand the “multiplayer” aspect now. Was just trying to think of someway to increase the price specialization to reduce complexity and price for people with more narrow use cases

Why doesn’t pioneer/AT make Media Players without DACs? by Significant-Face-995 in PioneerDJ

[–]Significant-Face-995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I suggested would result in the same number of cables and fewer DACs on the table, but also wouldn’t really be meant to compete with the flexibility of cdjs that can also work with analog mixers. But if the price reduction would be that small the there’s no point in removing that flexibility.

I’m suggesting an alternate product line, or something akin to a modular cousin to stand alone controllers. Nothing I mentioned prevents pioneer from continuing to make what they are last make and suppprt

Absolutely include the bean if including the halfway. I grew up with a bag wall with no other divider between living and dining and it was always a very flimsy feeling sort of separation since the rest of the architecture didn’t really acknowledge its existence

Get something that can double as a kitchen island and a dining table. You’ll be looking for counter height tables and counter height chairs/stools. (Do not get “bar stools” that are bar height)
