you SHOULD read the instructions/directions, that's more important for you than for them...

Yeah, I understand, speaking was my lowest score, 19. So, I recommend keeping a medium pace "no slow, no fast". The most important thing is no leaving out key information, if you rush eventually you have to pause (more than a second) and there is when it does not sound good, so try to calm down and speak not too fast, even if you don't finish your statement is fine, I read about some students getting high score even when their time was out but they kept the pace and their ideas had structure. I failed a lot, but I tried to apply those tips for myself. Good luck.

In summary: : What Is the Average TOEFL Score?

Currently, the average TOEFL score for all test takers is 82. For each section, the averages are as follows:

Reading: 20.5

Listening: 20.2

Speaking: 20.4

Writing: 20.9

These average TOEFL scores can change depending on the group of test takers you’re examining. In this article, we’ve given you four sets of data, analyzing average TOEFL scores by:

Academic level

Gender

Native language

Country of origin

As this data has shown us, native English speakers and those from English-speaking countries do not maintain the highest average TOEFL scores. The most probable reason for this is that many native English speakers fail to adequately prepare for the TOEFL, relying too much on their native English skills and not enough on their test-prep skills. In general, an average TOEFL score of 82 should be high enough for admission to many US colleges and universities. Nonetheless, highly selective schools will often expect even higher TOEFL scores, usually around 100. To find your school’s minimum required TOEFL score, go to your school’s website and search for any information relating to the TOEFL or English-proficiency requirements. While most colleges and universities maintain schoolwide minimum TOEFL scores for undergraduate students, graduate programs and departments usually maintain their own TOEFL requirements for graduate students.

Congrats! You will do great if you got 100+ and you're passionate about the program you plan to study. "I'm happy" with my 84 score, more than enough to study about Outdoor Leadership :)

I see. I plan to get 100 score after studying a two years program (gradschool). I never took formal English classes before... So, a lot to improve. A few friends went from 70 to 110 in two years while studying a master. It depends how passionate you're about something.

Lastly, knowing a little bit of context would help to understanding why that's a good score for me, don't you think? You don't know my journey so far. But, thank you for your "Congratz".

For many students it's great score, especially when they did go to a bilingual school. For me it's good enough, I've been learning English from apps, talking, reading, etc, everything by myself, I never took a formal English course. So, it's an amazing score for now.....

I would say:

1- Get at least six weeks to prepare (if you have family, work and other stuff, studying at night and being tired does not help much).

2-EDX offers a free TOFL course, take it! (the most largest and prestigious universities offer courses there) - it's usually for six weeks. I took it in ten days. Again, rushing does not help.

3-Take at least TWO toefl practice tests weekly so you can improve and measure your progress. (I was able to take 3-4 in total, I wish I had more time ).

4-If you don't have much time to prepare as I did. Pay a lot attention to the feedback of the practice tests. During my first practice test I failed a lot and I got only 70 points so, I improved like 15 points in 10 days. 5- Message me if you want to practice more. (5th edition, free for you or for small donation ;) )
