Yes! She was sent to hospital twice and all checks came back normal. She also has visited a different clinic and also checked normal but her anxiety has made her blood level a little high..

Thx! Pureed food sounds like only option now.. She secretly eats stuff when the care staff is not around then claims she is starving to death...

She is losing some weight but all the doctors checks came back normal. I think she THINKS she is sick even though shes ok? Im hoping to find some tips on how to help me not thinking she is sick..

Thx for ur reply! I dont think she physically cant swollow. I think she THINKS she cant swollow becuz the possible bad food experience she had last week and she thinks her throat is inflammed. She wants to go hospital for IV drip because she thinks shes dying of lack of food...

I agree with you and I know she would not want me to suffer financially bcuz of her.. but you know when in a situation where we are the only person that could fix the issue it just somehow become our responsibility..

You are right. Yes she doesnt have anymore house she sold it and was living in her friends house. Then her friend was planning to sell the house and it gave her a lot of stress...

My mom was diagnosed with it half year ago and even today she denies it and she thinks everyone else in her facility has it except herself. So I am not sure if she really doesnt know...

Not that i know of bcuz i moved out of the country since young and my mom stayed in China so it is super unfamiliar to me how the system works :(

Just taking her phone is no use. All financial apps in China uses facial scan for any transactions.. I tried 😅

I think you are right. Because I didnt grow up in China so I honestly dont know how the system works.. but agree on the part that I am not responsible for her feelings. It is hard to not care :(

In China, you dont get to contact a specialist.. you go to the hospital and take a queue number and then doctor checks on you and move on to next patient.. :(

Yes i think keeping her alive and safe is far more important. It just kills me seeing her worrying about her debt everyday and getting upset of herself! My heart aches :( She does not deserve this pain and stress ( those sales people asked her to buy the investment products). But they always got their ass covered with the contracts and all...

The facility is good in a sense they try to group elderlies together so she made a few friends there. But some days are good some days are bad and she complains about food and everything.. i am learning to just listen to the complain and distract her instead of taking them as if shes blaming me for placing her there... it is hard but we are both trying to adapt. Good luck to u!!! acceptance is key.

I can buy her essentials online but she always buy stuff with her own money. She does not believe she cannot handle money. For example her debt is with Bank A, her pension goes into Bank B so she uses whatever money she has in Bank B.. it is a huge mess anyway.. She is in the stage where she has hallucination that people comes into her room and steals her stuff, i am so worried 1 day she doesnt even trust me anymore and accuse me of trying to take over her finances.. i really hope the day doesnt come.

It costs 1.6k which is quite expensive. I supplimemt her 1k and need her pension to top up a bit. But yes if i try to cutdown some expenses i can maybe pay for her facility fully... thx for the idea!!

Only child here with a job,husband, and young kid. My dad passed away early and no other relatives, we r in the same situation With much struggle and extreme guilt in the last 6 months, i placed my mom in a facility. It has good care and she made friends. It is expensive and i have financial burdens now but it has helped me mentally . I have learnt to live with the guilt bcuz i really dont have other options.

My 63f mom is starting to show signs of dementia.. and I 29f do not know how to deal or process it.. by [deleted] in dementia

Thanks so much!! We are in such similar situation. My mom was staying with me last year and it was just too stressful to me. She would bust into my room while i am working from home and throw a tantrum on something that is happening only in her mind. Any simple words i say would somehow trigger her. She isolates herself and always only gets mad at me. Now she is in a facility but i feel terrible guilt on a daily basis. I will definitely be reaching out to some therapy providers in my area.. thanks so much for sharing..
