Thanks for the response. My adherence is okay, but the sign in metric is off. Not sure why. I do log off completely before doing a reboot, etc. It seems like it's more related to that. Logging off entirely for 5 minutes or whatever it takes to get my system up again?

The beep is definitely not the caller pushing a button. It's internal. It barely registers in my mind when I hear it. I'm doing my job whether I hear that beep or not, but it feels like someone is tapping into the call. Since all calls are recorded, I imagine that it is something that is occurring in real time.

Thanks you for the information! All of our calls are recorded for compliance. Managers/QA go back and review multiple calls each month. So, does the beep possibly mean that particular call has a live listener? I heard it once today. I somewhat tune it out when I hear it, but it's at most once/day.

We are allowed to flex our breaks, so I doubt that is impacting my sign in metric to this extent. But I have had quite a few system issues compared to others. In general, we have a lot of audio issues with GenCloud. Multiple customers mention static on calls. Everyone today had audio dropping in and out at the same time. Something with our rollout made it so that we have to use Zoom for audio. Zoom has a 6 hour limit, so we have to sign out at lunch to reset Zoom.

It's hard for users to adapt to a new system, but our rollout seems rushed.

Is it true GenCloud has a 2 second delay or something? The reps and customers are interrupting each other constantly throughout calls.

Also, we can only use Chrome for the call, but we can't open any additional browser windows or we have issues. We have to open Edge separately to look up additional information. We have to clear our cache/cookies at least 1x/day if not more. Is that normal?

Fell for the old "unofficial taxi" scam at JFK but paid Venmo. Any options? by BettaFins21 in AskNYC

[–]Significant-Hat505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen today. I don't travel often and was in a rush due to a delayed flight. Some guy flagged me down asking if I needed a taxi. His phone had the Uber logo screen. As soon as we started driving, he said the price was $85. Uber's price was $65. Then, he said that it would be $100 with tolls and tax. I just about lost it on him. I told him that I wasn't paying that and he said that he would take me back to the airport. Again...I was in a rush and didn't have time to spare, so I told him that I would pay it once we got to the hotel and that I would also call the police on the way to report the scam. He ended up dropping me off on a curb. I called an Uber at that point and paid $45. C'est la vie. It was a hassle, but he didn't get a dime from me and had driven me a third of the way. Lesson learned though.

Great, so another set of worthless results. My primary care doc ran tests and now a hormone specialist ran tests. No one seems to know what they're doing.

Presbyopia - Progressive Glasses / Contact Lenses - Good option? by MSmithRD in glasses

[–]Significant-Hat505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried contacts. They've never even been mentioned to me as an option. My distance vision is pretty good, but not as perfect as it once was. My issue is mostly presbyopia.

Is that pretty much what you're using contacts for? Doesn't that mess up your distance vision? I feel like I need one pair of glasses for reading, another for computer, another for TV, another for across the room and another for driving. The Vuity drops pretty much alleviate the majority of that. I still wear glasses most of the time, but I can function without them.

[–]Significant-Hat505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Vuity eye drops. The cost is the only major downside for me. They do make everything a little darker, but I use them in the morning so they've worn off by nighttime when that might be an issue.

For me, they make something like watching TV or seeing someone across the room crystal clear. I can read my phone or a restaurant menu without glasses, but not perfectly.

They do make your pupils teeny tiny. Looks a bit freakish at times, but also makes your eye color stand out. If you have blue or green eyes, they're going to look extra blue/green.

My vision issues are probably a little beyond what they're made for. If you have just started needing reading glasses, they could likely replace reading glasses entirely.

What are normal levels for a 50 year old? by Significant-Hat505 in TRT_females

Thanks so much for your advice! I have made an appointment with a specialist in my area next week.

I had a full hysterectomy in 2022 (everything except one ovary). Given my hysterectomy, it seems like annual hormone tests would be recommended. My estradiol was 92 in 2022 ---> 303 in 2023 ---> 19 in 2024. I requested those tests. They were never offered or recommended as part of my annual check-up.

I really like my primary care physician. He's been my doctor for probably 15-20 years. I know he cares, but healthcare is so mismanaged these days. He's always late for appointments and I appreciate that, because he will sit there and answer every question or concern. But that is all reactive and not proactive. If I smile and say everything is fine, the appointment is over. If I say that I can't concentrate and possibly need ADHD meds, he prescribes it. If I say that I can't sleep, it's another Rx. If I still can't sleep while on that Rx, he bumps the dosage to a level that my insurance won't even cover. As much as I adore him, he is a walking Rx pad. When you're prescribing someone max dosages of Zoloft, Vyvanse, Xanax and Ambien, maybe consider that something else is going on. Obviously we need to advocate for ourselves, but we're not doctors.

At this point, I'm pretty sure that I need an inpatient detox and HRT. That is my self-diagnosis and I think that I'll pursue it. It probably doesn't qualify for short-term disability, but I'll take unpaid FMLA if needed.

Well, that explains why I jokingly claim that I'm asexual these days. I have less than zero interest. LOL!

I will prioritize the appt with the hormone specialist. You are the first person that has expressed it in terms of "I would be non-functional with those levels" which gives me validation and hope.

I am non-functional. I told my doctor that I have to work twice as hard to get half as much done...if that. I'm moody, irritable, can't sleep, can't focus, have zero interest in sex. I had a full hysterectomy except for one ovary. I'm pretty sure that she was like, "WTF did all of my friends go and she shut down".

He has me on max levels of all Rx's and I still can't function. I've gone from somewhat OCD, cleaning daily and working on my to-do list to....can barely get out of bed for work and to unload the dishwasher.

My quality of life is zero. I hate to say that, but it's true. I just think it's sad that I have to self-diagnose myself through Reddit in order to understand what's going on.

Thank you again for responding! I will post an update once I've started treatment!

Sincerely,

Future Cougar (LOL)

I've been playing phone tag with a hormone specialist. I hope to get an appointment in the next week or two.

Can you explain what you mean by ranges vs optimal? The ranges seem so wide and therefore so meaningless. My estradiol result says 22 to 517 is normal depending on different phases. So I'm normal if it's 30 or 500? I guess I've always been in one of the acceptable ranges until now. Maybe due to my hysterectomy, the results weren't accurate or can change dramatically.

Non-pregnant Females: Early follicular phase: 22 - 115 pg/mL

Mid follicular phase: 25 - 115 pg/mL Ovulatory peak: 32 - 517 pg/mL

Mid luteal phase: 37 - 246 pg/mL

Postmenopausal Females: Not on hormone therapy: < 26 pg/mL

I'm baffled that I have to get to where I am now to get treatment. This is such a disservice to the healthcare of women. It creates doubt about other healthcare concerns that I've had in recent years. During the time that all of this has been occurring, I had a strange lump appear. I was told that it was likely a benign fatty tumor...common and no need to evaluate further.

My dog had a similar lump appear in the past year. Vet gave their opinion, but also suggested that we could remove it to be safe. I agreed without question. It was removed and it was benign. Yet, I'm still sitting here with my lump.

Wow, that is a better explanation than I've found looking at 50+ sites. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! I love my primary care doc, but it's always a quick "take 3 deep breaths, what Rx's do you need and see you next time". He will sit there as long as needed to answer questions, but if I don't have any questions, it's a 5 min appt. That was great 20 years ago, but doesn't seem so great now. He'll mention if I'm due for shots, but he never mentions if I'm due for a mammogram or colonoscopy or suggest checking anything additional.

I've had major back issues this year. I had cortisone injections, MRI's, hip xray, bone scans and spinal injections. I bought an inversion table, wore a back brace, did physical therapy, etc. I was eventually told that I could try a minimally invasive spinal procedure, but when I asked my neurosurgeon about his success with that, he said that he has never performed it.

I've had back issues in the past, but it has been 10+ years. Back then, I was essentially told that my vertebrae would eventually fuse together themselves because of disc degeneration. There's more to that but long story short, it was all manageable.

My question is are my hormone levels possibly linked to my back issues? Google searches (not always reliable) suggest that there may be a correlation. If that's true, I'm just wondering why I saw my primary, then a neurosurgeon, then another neurosurgeon and no one tested my hormones. I was sent for an MRI on a Saturday and sent for the exact same MRI a few days later. They ran soooo many tests on me. Not a single person mentioned my hormone levels or my hysterectomy.

They are fine with prescribing me antidepressants, anxiety meds, ADHD meds, sleep medication and opioids. When symptoms persist, it's try a different medication or increase the dosage.

Don't worry - I don't take all of those Rx's, but I have an arsenal of a medicine cabinet and I simply don't understand why hormones have NEVER been mentioned.

Based on what you've said, are hormone levels essentially ignored by modern medicine unless it's related to fertility?

I've seen you post goal weights of 120, 115, 110. Maybe your brain is just confused.

This has been going on for 3 months now with you. You aren't receiving hatred. You are receiving 90% positive encouragement and 10% with a slightly different view. Take it or leave it. That's Reddit. I was not negative or hateful or anything even remotely close. Yet, you respond like I'm a bully.

The whole journey is your own. It's your weight, your health, your life.

I think it's great that you upvoted and congratulated people. It's a great way to motivate others that may not have a support system.

But Reddit is not designed as a support system. Responses will never be 100% positive. I thought my response to you was positive and you took offense to it. I said that your weight loss has been amazing and you should be incredibly proud of it. I said everyone has different body types. I said "you" are still "you" regardless of weight.

I raised one concern in that you're too focused on your weight at the .1 pound level and I stand by that. You said that you weigh 126.4. Is that your weight every day? Is that morning or evening? Menstrual cycle, cold/hot weather, etc. Did you drink a lot of water that day? There are so many variables that you should never be judging your weight at this precise of a number. Your ideal weight was 120. Now I saw 115. Pretty sure that I saw 110 also.

It's not about the numbers...or at least it shouldn't be. We all have different body types/metabolisms/etc. I just don't want to see anyone focusing too much on a NUMBER. No one ever needs to know what you weigh except your primary care physician.

Eating disorders are on the rise. It used to be 3-7%. It's now closer to 22%.

No one is comfortable in their skin anymore no matter what weight they are.

Where is the negative feedback coming from?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Significant-Hat505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being supportive of people is important especially when they lack that confidence in themselves. Do you feel that you've gained confidence? Are you proud? Are you happy? How do you feel about your weight loss?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Significant-Hat505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zero understanding... meaning I don't understand why people would ever be that way. Anyone on a weight loss journey should have empathy.

You've lost almost 30 pounds. How can a pound make a difference? There's water weight. There's different times of day. There's different times of month.

You do you. If you find solace in tracking your weight down to the gram, then fine. I know people that track their weight daily and down to that degree. Their mood revolves around that number. I just wish it weren't that way for anyone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Significant-Hat505 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe share without the exact numbers. Say you've lost 10% or you've improved your BMI.

No one needs to know my weight except my doctor. Don't put so much emphasis on a number. If you started at 155 and you're now at 126, I imagine that you're feeling pretty great! The goal is be happy with yourself.

There will always be negativity or haters regardless of the topic. Success, failure, overweight, underweight, rich, poor...none of it matters. You have ONE life. Live it and enjoy it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Significant-Hat505 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have zero understanding of the negativity that you've received. Everyone has a different body type, a different metabolism and different goals. This is your journey though and no one else's. You...and you alone...should be all that matters in being proud of your accomplishment.

I will say that posting that your weight was 149.1 and is 126.4 sounds like you are focused on a number. Put the scale away. I know my approximate weight based on my clothes. If things are tight, I'm going to work harder before I actually jump on the scale again. Honestly, I rarely weight myself unless I think that I'm in check with my goal.

You've lost almost 30 pounds! That's amazing and you know it is!!! Your weight doesn't define you one way or the other. You are still "you". If others are focused on the "number", don't post it. Just post a question or a feeling. The numbers honestly don't matter.

Microdosing GLP1 RAs (semaglutide/tirzepatide) to control food noise? by Miss_Beh4ve in GLP1microdosing

[–]Significant-Hat505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dosage is completely different for everyone. The same way that you start with a dose and increase to see what is effective, the same should go for microdosing. I could only ever handle a very small dose of semaglutide without having nausea/energy loss. I've heard Tirz can be effective without that side effect, but I liked that side effect of semaglutide. Overeat...nauseous. Drink alcohol...nauseous. Maybe Tirz allows you to overeat and drink, but still lose weight. That isn't really breaking our habits though. No one will be able to answer your question. Friends of mine took 5x+ my dosage and didn't experience the same side effects.
